  • 7 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do: Warrior Mind Podcast #522

Over eight years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss the 7 things mentally strong people avoid doing.

7 Things Mentally Strong People Avoid Doing

Just as some people are destined to be physically strong, it’s probably fair to say that some people are naturally mentally strong. However, even if you’re not one of those fortunate people, you can certainly learn to be much mentally stronger than you’ve been demonstrating.

Good mental habits and a positive view of life allow mental strength to develop. You can become much stronger than you think you can.

There are some things that mentally strong people just don’t do, such as:

    * Engaging in negative self-talk. Negative self-talk is where your undoing begins. It drains your spirit and your confidence. Imagine having someone that followed you around all day and whispered negative things into your ear incessantly. It would drive you crazy. Negative self-talk drives you crazy, too.

    * Work on keeping your mind in one of two modes: You’re either concentrating on your current task, or your mind is quiet. It takes practice. Start practicing.2. Repeating mistakes. Mistakes quickly become habits. You have a friend that keeps dating the wrong guys. You have another friend that always procrastinates until the last minute and repeatedly suffers for it.

    * Review your mistakes each day and vow not to repeat them. You’ve already figured out that your method didn’t work. Be smart and try something else next time.

    3. Giving up when faced with discomfort. Mentally weak people give in to discomfort quicker than those that are mentally strong. Dealing with discomfort can prevent you from spending money you shouldn’t. It can stop you from binging on ice cream and ruining your diet.

    * Real success is hiding behind some discomfort. The more you can tolerate, the more successful you can become.4. Focusing on anything outside of their control. What’s the point of fretting over things you can’t control? It’s a waste of time, energy, and focus. Recognize what you can and can’t control.* You have nothing to worry about. If you can control it, then control it and don’t worry. If you can’t, there’s no point in worrying anyway.5. Ruminating on the past. Maybe you should’ve chosen a better college major, or a different spouse, or asked that high school crush to prom. It’s over, and you’re not doing any good focusing on your regret.* Today is a new day. Make the most of it. If you can learn something from the past, do it. However, once you’ve learned your lesson, move on.6. Avoiding the truth. Mentally strong people can handle the truth, and they seek the truth. Mentally weak people avoid the truth. Instead, they seek comfort. You can’t improve yourself or make good decisions without having a good understanding of the truth.* Examine your flaws and tendencies. Examine your life and overall situation. Be as objective as you can.7/ Avoiding responsibility. Mentally strong want to take responsibility for their results in life. If you’re responsible, you can make it better. If it’s someone else’s fault, you’re just a victim and less likely to take productive action.* Have a policy for taking responsibility for your ch...

  • 7 Signs That You’re Controlled by Emotions: Warrior Mind Podcast #521

Over seven years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 18 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss the warning signs that you’re controlled by emotions and this effects your success.

7 Signs That You’re Controlled by Emotions

Do you control your emotions or do your emotions control you? Everyone likes to think they have control over their emotions, but there are plenty of common signs that show that it’s quite rare for someone to have mastered their emotions.

Our emotions lead our behavior. You just might discover that you have less mastery over yourself than you thought.

How much control do you really have?

Consider these signs that indicate your emotions control you:

    * You procrastinate. What is procrastination? It’s the inability to get yourself to do something you know you should be doing. Eventually you’ll do it, but not at the best time.* Why does this happen? It happens because you don’t feel like doing it, so you find a way to squirm out of it, at least in the short term.

Enjoy this Podcast on 7 Signs That You’re Controlled by Emotions

More Signs You’re Controlled by Emotions

    * You lose your temper easily. Do small things make you see red? Do you lose your temper every day?* When you lose your temper, you lose the ability to think and reason like a rational human being. If you had control over your emotions, could you lose your temper?

    * You do what is easy or enjoyable, instead of what is needed. At any moment, there’s what you should be doing and what you want to do. Rarely are they the same thing.* So, which do you do? Do you show discipline and do what is important? Or do you give in to the urge to do something else?* This is the biggest obstacle to success. We all know what needs to be done, but we can’t get ourselves to do it often enough to enjoy lasting success.* You repeat your mistakes. One way of knowing that you’re driven by your emotions is an inability to change your behavior. Repeating mistakes demonstrates that your intellect is being overridden by your emotions.* If your powers of reasoning were in charge, you wouldn’t repeat your mistakes.* You fail to consider the consequences of your actions. When your emotions are calling the shots, any consideration of consequences goes right out the window.* If you allow your emotions to be in control, your tendency will be to make yourself feel better now without concern for the future.* You frequently regret the things you say and do. How often do you say something that you wish you could take back later? Impulsive actions and outbursts show that your emotions have control over your decision-making process.* Your actions are influenced by your mood. Do you make the same decisions regardless of your emotions? Good for you. Those that are controlled by their emotions make different decisions depending on how they feel that day.

How much control do you have? Do your emotions drive your thoughts and behavior? It’s not easy to learn how to override our emotions and allow rational thinking to prevail.

We’re all masters at justifying what we desire. Make an effort to think before acting or speaking. Ask yourself what the smart decisions is, and then do everything you can to follow that course of action.

  • Developing an Intense Focus: Warrior Mind Podcast #520

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss some tips on developing an intense focus to achieve peak performance.

    Developing an Intense Focus

We all have a tendency to become sidetracked. We may want to complete an important task, yet many distractions poke and prod us away from our goals. How can we keep our focus on the task as hand?

Distractions may be hard to ignore, especially when it’s a chatty coworker, a ringing phone, a demanding spouse, or many other things. Thankfully, there are some tried and true strategies we can use to put the distractions on hold and place an intense focus on our task.

Try these techniques to develop an intense focus:

    * Remove distractions. You can’t focus if you’re constantly checking your email, Facebook, or other time-stealers! You’ll get more done if you allow your mind to get in the groove with some peace and quiet.* Turn off your email, close your web browsers, shut off your phone off or forward it to voicemail, and put on headphones to avoid loud noises. You’ll be glad you did!* Remain committed. You know that you have something you should finish, but are you one hundred percent committed to seeing it through to completion? This is where you need to be honest with yourself.

    * If you’re not fully committed to your task, you’re more likely to allow distractions to overtake your mind. More often than not, you’ll use distractions to create excuses and exceptions that try to justify your lack of focus.

    * If you are committed, it will be easier to ignore distractions and keep your focus. This is something only you can decide.

Enjoy this podcast on developing intense focus.

More tips on developing intense focus.

    * Set a time limit. Even if the task itself doesn’t have a time limit, assign one anyway. If you have a deadline, you’ll be more apt to complete your task in a timely manner.

    * Rather than giving in to the surrounding distractions, you’ll be competing against the clock to get things done on time.

    * Take frequent breaks. This may sound contradictory, but it actually makes a world of difference for the workaholic. If we work too long at one time, not only do we become physically tired, but our minds tire as well. This makes us more susceptible to distractions and shatters our concentration.

    * Work intently for an hour and then allow yourself a 10-minute break. When you return from the break, you’ll be more focused, your mind will be clearer, and you’ll be more likely to work for another hour without losing focus.

    * This strategy allows you to get more work done in a shorter time.

    * Use a list. Lists are wonderful tools that help you accomplish your work quicker and easier. Before beginning, write down everything you need to accomplish and then cross out each task as you complete it.

    * The process of crossing things off your list is a great motivator to keep you working without distractions, plus it helps to build the momentum to get everything done.

    * Reward yourself for a job well done. When you’re able to stay focused on an important task,

  • Raising Your Standards: Warrior Mind Podcast #519

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss how raising your standards will have a dramatic impact on your success and happiness.

Raising Your Standards is the Key to Personal Progress

If you’re not as successful as you’d like to be, your standards are probably too low. If being 20 pounds overweight is acceptable to you, you’re probably 20 pounds overweight. If living in your mom’s basement is okay with you, then you’ll likely be down there until you’re 40.

Most people believe they’re being reasonable, or non-selfish, when they set low standards. But you get what you tolerate in life.

Having high standards is a way of respecting yourself and getting the most out of your life. Life will rarely give you more than you demand from it. Ensure you’re demanding enough.

Enjoy this podcast on raising your standards

    More on Raising Your Standards

    Try these ideas:

    * Identify the area of your life you’d like to change. Of course, you could raise all of your values. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, your short-term success will be greater if you focus your attention on a single part of your life. It might be finances, relationships, health, or any other category.* Set a new minimum. Let’s imagine that you want to improve your finances. You might need new standards for your income, rate of savings, and spending. Take a look at all the items that are related to your area of focus and set a new minimum for what you’re willing to tolerate.* Do you think Tony Robbins would be satisfied with only earning $250,000 per year? Do you think Warren Buffett would be satisfied with a 2.2% return on his portfolio? Of course not, and that’s a big part of the reason they’re wealthy.* Begin making changes. New standards are a starting point. Now, you have to make actual changes to your life and behavior to meet those new minimums. If you need to increase your income to meet your new standard, it might be necessary to look for a new job or to create a business you can run on the side.* A standard is really just a goal. What do you need to do in order to reach that goal?* Incorporate those changes into your identity. You can force yourself to go to the gym a few times, or to save an extra $200 each month, but it’s not easy to make those changes stick. You have to believe that it’s part of who you are. Here’s how you can accomplish that:* If you’re beginning a gym habit, make a note of each time you set foot in the gym. Say to yourself, “See that? I’m the type of person that goes to the gym. I go even if I don’t feel like going. That’s who I am.”* It sounds silly, but it works over time. Keep proving to yourself that you’re the type of person that does that behavior religiously.

    * Monitor yourself. Measure your progress and congratulate yourself for it. Give yourself a verbal reward. Jump up and down and smile. Ensure you’re enjoying your progress. You’ll be more likely to stick with the changes you’re making.* Keep going. You’ll probably raise your standards many times over your life. Pick a new area of your life to address and go for it. You’re turning yourself into a more successful person with each iteration.

Raising your standards is the first step to improving the quality of your life. Most people don’t consider their standards at all or have standards that are far too low to live...

  • 25 Tips for Success: Warrior Mind Podcast #517

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss 25 Tips for Success in life.

    25 Tips for Success

Achieving your goals builds your self-confidence and brings feelings of success and happiness, right?

Thankfully, you can easily establish daily habits that bring you the success you desire.

    Review these tips for inspiration:

    1. Embrace your failures. The road to success is paved with your failures along the way. Your failures encourage you to try something different or to exert more effort into something. Decide to be okay with failure and to learn from it.

    2. Ask questions. Never be afraid to ask questions about how someone is successful.

    3. Define what success means to you. For example, you might see becoming the Vice President of your company as success. Alternatively, your primary desire might be to raise a happy family. Neither one is better than the other!

    4. Have clarity. Is your success within your reach? If you put in plenty of time and effort, will you achieve it? How? What’s your plan?

    5. Stay focused. Keep working toward your goals, one moment at a time.

    6. Surround yourself with successful people. You’re more apt to achieve success if you hang out with others who are successful.

    7. Never give up. Keep trying to achieve.

    8. Keep your eyes open for unexpected gems. You might encounter wonderful things that you weren’t anticipating. Discover the beauty along your path to success. You’ll then be inspired to continue.

    9. Be proactive. Think in advance about what needs to happen in order for you to surpass a milestone on your journey.

    10. Plan. Consistently allow time in your schedule to work toward your desired goals.

    More Tips for Success

    11. Expect delays and challenges. If you do, you’ll be less distracted when they occur.

    12. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Avoid letting minor issues deter you from your goal.

    13. Have fun with it. In order to be successful, your chosen field/career should be something that appeals to you. This way, you’ll enjoy yourself along the way.

    14. Find a mentor. When you can pattern your behavior and actions after someone who’s successful, you’ll likely achieve success, too. Select a mentor you can look up to.

    15. Use the mini-goals strategy. Rather than setting your goal as, “I want to save $100,000 over the next 10 years,” divide up your larger goal for success into segmented goals. In this example, a mini-goal could be, “I will save $10,000 this year” or “I will save $833 per month each month this year.” This way, you’ll experience frequent successes.

    16. Set up weekly goals. Along your path to success, you’ll need plenty of momentum. When you establish projects to do each week that relate to your goals, you’ll build the momentum to succeed.

    17. Apply visual imagery. Close your eyes and imagine what it will look and feel like when you accomplish success on your own terms. Visualize your success every single day.

  • The Psychology of Goal Setting: Warrior Mind Podcast #516

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to discuss the psychology of goal setting and why goal setting is essential for your success.

    Psychology of Goal Setting

There are many things that people do in order to stay motivated and reach their goals. One of the most powerful ways to do this is not one that many people consider, but it has proven to be extremely important in this process. That method is to write your goals down and it is known to be extremely beneficial for this purpose.

The power of written words is undeniable

It can be incredibly powerful to write something down and to know that what you wrote is going to have a major effect in your life. The simple act of writing something already tells your brain that this is more important than anything that is not written.

This works at a subconscious level and it helps us keep our goals more palpable and real in every possible way. The main reason why setting your goals and making them official is that you are going to experience a level of commitment that is extremely useful in their journey.

    Letting others know your plans

We are no saying that you should have your plans printed on a poster for everyone to see in your office or home, but you could tell those who are close to you about your plans. This is a great way to add motivation because you don’t want to be the person who quits before they reach their goals.

Some people would argue that this is unnecessary pressure, but you should see it from the glad half full angle instead of the glass half empty. Think of it as the perfect way to keep you focused and driven to succeed.

One of the things that everyone needs to remember at all times is that letting people know about your goals has nothing to do with telling them how you plan to accomplish them. For example, someone who plans to become a bestselling author does not have to share what kind of book they are planning to write. The simple act of letting people know that you are pursuing a career as an author is more than enough.

When you tell supportive people of your plans, they may even help keep you encouraged when things seem to be most difficult. This type of support is always good and it’s also the reason why you should only share your goals with people you trust.

More on the Psychology of Goal Setting

    The statistics of success

Most people who set out to achieve any kind of goals are going to fail and that is an undeniable fact, but the reasons why they fail are mostly something they can control and improve. This means that failure to achieve goals is largely related to how we perceive the challenges and not something that is out of our control.

Just like success is the outcome for a minority of people with their goals, statistics also show that only 3% of people who have plans and goals actually write them down. This provides great insight into how many people don’t take their goals seriously enough to write them down and to give them more relevance in their lives.

It would seem like everyone wants to achieve success in life and for the most part this is true. The problem is that most people are not doing all they can to ensure that their goals can be reached. The truth is that anyone can dream big, but most people are not going to take the time to build the stricture that is going to make those dreams come true.

Set smaller goals on the road to the main goal

One of the most important aspects of goal setting is to set smaller goals that lead you to the larger goals you have set for yourself. For example, if you are planning to write a book. You should celebrate the process of creating the first draft. We are not saying you should be throwing a party for that particular goal, but you could treat yourself to a nice dinner or maybe buy yourself a small present.

The more layers you add to the goal, the more likely it is that you will feel encouraged to keep going with gradual achievements. This is very important when you are setting goals that are meant to happen after a long process of hard work and dedication.

    Unwritten goals are easily dismissed

Another problem that comes from not writing your goals is that you are less likely to feel hesitant to quit. The less emotional involvement you have with a goal, the more likely it is that you won’t have as much commitment to see it through.

This is one of the biggest factors to consider when you are looking for a way to achieve better results with your efforts. Writing your goals down and letting other people know about them are two of the most essential ways for you to achieve results. Just remember that most successful people did this before they became a success. They knew the power that comes from writing your goals and they understood the value of giving them more weight and adding more emotional involvement.

Always look at your goals as an important part of your life, and this means they are a part of your life that you can’t hide from those around you, but most importantly, you can’t hide them from yourself.

    Final thoughts

Goals are ultimately the essence of a happy and fulfilling life because they allow us to gain a sense of purpose. It doesn’t matter how small or how big your goals are, the thing that truly matters is that you are going to have a project that is going to keep you engaged in your journey through life.

We are all likely to have many goals during the course of a lifetime. The more you are able to stick to each of those projects until you reach your goals, the more likely your journey through life is going to be joyful and extremely successful.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast, I’m going to share 8 Activities to Build Your Self-Confidence for personal success and achievement.

8 Ways To Build Your Self-Confidence

Everything becomes easier when you’re brimming with self-confidence. As soon as self-doubt enters your mind, your ability to act is compromised. Self-confidence might seem to rise and fall in a random fashion, but there are steps you can take to increase the level of confidence you experience on a regular basis.

Enhance your self-confidence and accomplish more with these techniques:

        * Achieve a goal. Start small. Your goal might be to arrive to work on time every day this week or to eat a piece of fruit each day. Easy goals are easy to accomplish. When you accomplish something, you feel more confident. Choose easy goals that make a difference. The accomplishment of many, small goals will change your level of confidence.* Make a list of your accomplishments. It’s interesting that our failures are easy to list, but our accomplishments require a little more pondering. Make a list of your accomplishments and review them each day. Remember how great you felt in that moment.* Groom yourself to a higher standard. Get a better haircut. Spend a little more time and attention on your grooming each morning. Learn how to apply your makeup more effectively. Trim your beard in a more attractive manner. Trim those stray ear and nose hairs. You’ll be surprised how much better you look and feel.

Enjoy this podcast on 8 Ways To Build Your Self-Confidence

        * Be assertive. Having more control over your life results in greater self-confidence. One of the quickest ways to increase the level of influence you have over your life is to be more assertive. Give yourself small tasks to accomplish that require assertiveness. A few examples you might consider:

        * Walk into a fast-food restaurant and ask for a cup of water without ordering anything else. It doesn’t matter whether your request is granted. Just ask.* Tell your boss one thing you’d like to change about your job or your work environment.* Make one suggestion to your significant other that would enhance your relationship.* Dress nicer. We all feel more confident when we’re dressed well. Up your game and put the “nice clothes” in your closet to work for you. Think of your friend or coworker that dresses the best. Shoot for a similar level of clothing while maintaining your own style. It takes the same amount of time to put on a nicer shirt.* Practice. Practice breeds confidence. You’ll be much more confident if you practice your speech ten times instead of five. Whether you practice your flirting skills or your ability give presentations, your confidence will increase with practice.* Drop one thing from your life. The odds are high that you’re currently stuck with an obligation in your life that you don’t enjoy. While there are some things in life you have to do, there are just as many that you don’t. Take control and drop one of these non-essential activities that you prefer not to do anyway.* Find a mentor. The right mentor can make all the difference. Knowing that you have an expert on your side is sure to boost your confidence. A good mentor will provide the support and guidance necessary to reach your goals. Good mentors aren’t easy to find, but well worth the effort to locate.

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast I’m going to share 7 Ways to Grow Your Mental Toughness for personal success and achievement.

7 Ways to Grow Your Mental Toughness

Mental toughness can benefit you in many ways. When you’re mentally tough, it’s easier to overcome challenges, whether they be mental, physical, emotional, or something that’s keeping you from achieving your goals.

Would you like to make your life easier with mental toughness?

Luckily, you don’t have to be born mentally tough. You can cultivate toughness. And you can grow your mental toughness step by step from wherever your starting point happens to be.

Use these strategies to create a level of mental toughness that will send a chill down the spine of most others:

        * Meditate. Meditation looks peaceful and easy to the casual observer, but they might not be seeing everything.* Meditation can be exhausting and uncomfortable, both physically and emotionally. It’s uncomfortable to sit in the same position for any length of time. Your brain is also used to a lot more stimulation than meditation provides.* When you teach yourself to sit still and clear your mind, you also practice mental toughness.* Physical discomfort. A cold shower, hot weather, an exhausting workout, staying awake when you’re very tired: These are a few examples of physical discomfort. Put yourself in physically uncomfortable situations and see how long you can last. Obviously, you want to avoid causing yourself any real harm.* Keep in mind that the level of discomfort doesn’t have to be extreme. Mild discomfort over a longer period of time can be just as challenging.

Emotional discomfort. Make yourself bored. Introduce yourself to five strangers each day. Ask out someone on a date. Sit, stare at the wall, and count until you give up. Boredom and anxiety are the basic emotions of discomfort. Test yourself each day.

Enjoy this podcast on 7 Ways to Grow Your Mental Toughness

        * Finish what you start. Most of us want to quit before we’re done. We’ll vacuum the last room tomorrow. That last repetition of bench press isn’t necessary. Why pound away on the treadmill for an hour when you can quit after 45 minutes? Some of those dirty dishes need to soak anyway.* Quitting is the result of either physical or emotional discomfort. Learning how to finish what you start is a great habit to grow and display your mental toughness. It’s also great for your overall success in life.

        * Only concern yourself with what you can control. One way to be tougher is to focus all of your mental and physical resources on just one thing – something that you can control. Avoid spreading yourself too thin. Why worry about something you can’t do anything about?* Avoid complaining. Complaining is a demonstration of weakness. If you’re tough, you don’t complain, because nothing can bother you. Show yourself and the world that you’re a tough guy, or tough gal, by not complaining about anything.* That doesn’t mean you have to tolerate something you don’t like. If you can change it, change it. If you can’t, keep yourself from complaining about it.* Use affirmations. There are plenty of affirmations online related to mental toughness. YouTube is loaded with videos of affirmations.* Tell yourself each day just how tough and resilient you are.

Over six years and going strong!  With over 1M downloads from over 15 countries and 7 continents’…. this is the Warrior Mind Podcast.

In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast I’m going to share 12 easy ways to practice gratitude in your life.

12 Practical Ways to Practice Gratitude

With it being Thanksgiving here in the United States I thought I’d share some ideas about gratitude.

Gratitude isn’t a common habit, but without gratitude, life is more challenging than it needs to be. Feeling grateful resets your perspective, and this is a gift you can give yourself each day. If you find yourself feeling pessimistic or overwhelmed, a little gratitude can get your attitude back on the right track.

Gratitude is free, enjoyable, and effective.

Practice gratitude each day with these actions:

        * Write it down. Make a daily habit of writing down a few things that you can be grateful about. Ideally, you’ll do this early and late in the day. It gets your day off on the right foot and sets you up for a good night of sleep.* Be grateful for the little things. There are plenty of small things you can be grateful for each day. A great cup of coffee, the sound of birds in the morning, or the fact that you have a new set of tires on your car can all uplift your mood.* Go for a gratitude walk. This is a great way to get out of your head. Go for a walk and look for things that you can be grateful for. A beautiful tree, a child playing in her yard, a friendly dog, or a nice, cool breeze are all things you could choose to feel gratitude about.* Avoid making comparisons. When you compare one thing to another, you demean it. Be grateful for something exactly as it is. This applies to people and things.* Tell people you’re thankful. * Enjoy your pet. Pets give us plenty of reasons to feel gratitude. Give your pet some extra attention. You’ll both feel great.* Donate your time or money. Give your resources to something that you think is valuable to the world. It could be a charity or other organization. Time and money can have a great impact.* Make a list of things that impress you about yourself. Have a little gratitude for yourself, too. What are you impressed by when you take a long, hard look at yourself? In this episode of the Warrior Mind Podcast I’m going to share 10 essential reasons why is important to practice persistence for success and happiness.

        10 Reasons to Practice Persistence

Do you have persistence? Persistence is the act of working hard and trying again and again until you achieve what you’ve set out to achieve.

As long as you persist, you can’t fail!

        Consider these benefits of persistence:

        * You’ll become an expert. Chances are that the first time you try something you might not be good at it. However, once you’ve completed the same task multiple times, you’ll soon become better and better, becoming an expert at the task in the process.

        * Persistence will motivate you to try harder. When you try and try, you’ll move a little closer to your goal with each attempt. This will help motivate you as it will show that this effort makes a difference.

        * Persistence is a sign of ambition. Only those who are truly ambitious are able to bring persistence into their daily lives. This is why the most successful people you know are also those who are most persistent.* Most successful people have failed at least once, but this did not stop them from achieving success. With each failure, they learned what they needed to do differently the next time they tried.* Eventually, they succeeded, which would never have happened had they become discouraged at the first sign of failure.

        * You’ll set a good example. Whether you’re setting an example for your work colleagues or your children, if they see that you’re not willing to give up when you face adversity, they’ll be more inclined to try harder at their own challenges.* Become a role model and those around you will become more consistent and hard-working too.

        * Persistence teaches you the value of success. Being successful takes time and effort. No one ever became successful without making sacrifices and being persistent with their time and efforts.

        * Persistence gives you vital experience. When you’re persistent, you learn that each failure gives you another opportunity to learn. With each failure, you’ll become more resilient. You’ll also learn how you can overcome any challenge.

        * You become more aware of your weaknesses. To achieve success at anything, it’s important to understand your weaknesses. When you look at your failures, you’ll discover your faults and learn what you need to work on to become successful.

        * People judge you on your consistency. When you’re persistent, you also develop consistency. Many people look for this skill, whether in the workplace or in your personal life. They want to know that you’ll work hard to do what needs to be done on a regular basis.

        * You’ll learn that things that come easy bring little reward. Harder tasks may require a little work and consistency, but they offer much greater rewards. Is it not worth making that little extra effort to achieve greater rewards?* Most importantly, you’ll be able to create the life you desire. With persistence, you’ll be able to sail through life’s setbacks. You’ll seek solutions to overcome your challenges and keep moving forward to build a life that satisfies you.

Persistence is important, as rarely anything worth having in life comes without it. Most often,
