A brand new film exclusively on Shudder streaming service, Host is a Zoom/webchat based horror film that is also the length of a regular Zoom call. A fantastic film that uses a computer based filming style, Shudder blew both of us away, could be called the best horror film of 2020. (Granted that there haven’t been new horror films because of our current situation.) We also talk about Shudder and how excited we are to see what this streaming services has in store for us.

A 2006 horror film that went under the radar; Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is a unique horror mockumentary film that commentates a lot on the “rules” of horror films and how the formula gets made. In this world slashers like Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers are actually canon, Leslie Vernon aims to be one of the greats in the “fear industry” and a documentary group follows him on how he rises. To start off this continuous series of Studio Ghibli movies, this episode is on the “violent for a Ghibli film” Princess Mononoke. A thrilling story about a prince, trying to shake off a demon curse set upon him by a boar, Ashitaka meets three people that are trying to change nature forever. With the overarching message of humans, nature, and war, this movie’s message can still be seen as relevant till this day. In this new episode, we talk about the new Netflix original; The Devil All the Time. This movie is packed with great actors that give even better performances. With a cast of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, Harry Melling, Sebastian Stan and many other brilliant actors, each actor and actress really bite into their role in the film, which makes up a lot of the positives in this film. We also get into each character and how it plays into the themes of the film and the idea of “God works in mysterious ways.” We also get into the idea of religion, the positive and negatives within normal life and how this movie exposes the corrupt power trips that religion gives these characters. On today’s new episode we do the iconic animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. We go into why we love this film so much, why it’s probably the best Spider-Man movie, and the easter eggs and details they put in this movie to show the love, care, and passion that they had with the film. The Babysitter: Killer Queen; Sequel Syndrome

Coming from the runaway classic, The Babysitter, the sequel; The Babysitter Killer Queen is a runaway, but maybe not in a good way. We go into depth with what we like and what we REALLY didn't like with this sequel. We expand on why the first one was so good and how this movie steps on all the traps that the first one avoided when creating a comedic horror film, we also talk about the future for this film (there has been talks for a third film already) and what we want to see with the third film.

The Babysitter, The Fun-Having Slasher Film
