The local church is to be devoted to prayer as an outworking of our love for God, an expression of our love for others, and an act of dependence on God. This sermon briefly reflects on why the church is to be devoted to prayer and then explores how the church can be devoted to prayer.

The local church must remain rooted in Scripture because it is where we see God, receive His life-giving word, learn of His guidance for life, and find His protection from false teaching.

It is through the work of the Holy Spirit that the church is able to become more like Jesus, experience unity in Jesus, and boldly witness of the gospel of Jesus!

The gospel is not only how we enter into a relationship with God but much more. The Gospel is the crux of the local church in that we are reconciled to God and have eternal life, the gospel is how we grow in our faith in Christ and how we experience the love of christ through our relationships with others. To rediscover the local church we must be grounded in the gospel.
