Luke 10:38-42. We all lose focus from time to time. Things that we know to be important and real priorities in our lives can take a back seat during our life's journey. This ought not to be so, but alas it happens to the best of us and more often than we would care to admit for sure. We seek to have it all together, or at least that is what we want people to think of us. That we have our cake and we eat it too. But there are times that we get it all wrong. We can get so disoriented by tragedy, loss, fear, anger, and betrayal that we can come completely unhinged. Yet the greater danger for most of us is the nagging tyranny of the urgent. We become so overwhelmed with what simply needs to get done that we abandon the things that ought to be done. So what do we do? Slow down and sit at the feet of Jesus for a while. Take the time to be reminded of what is actually important and that your portion and satisfaction for life is to be found in the Lord and not in anything or anyone in this world.
