Revelation 8:1-13. When we consider the gracious long-suffering of God we can often wonder if there will come a time when it is too late for mankind. Well, the simple answer is, "Yes!" But our loving God, who sent Jesus to die in our place on the Cross of Calvary desires all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) Yet as His pleas to the world to come to Him and know love and take part in the kingdom of God go unheeded. Even in the midst of unmatched global disaster men and women would rather have the mountains fall on them than repent and turn to God for forgiveness and healing. (Isaiah 2:10; Hosea 10:8; Luke 23:30; Revelation 6:16) The devastation of the coming judgment is unlike anything that we have ever known on the earth. Those who will suffer through them will be so antagonistic against that Lord of heaven that no matter how bad things get and how many opportunities they have to change, they will refuse. How thick and stubborn can you be? The sad part is that they will all stand before God and be compelled to and worship and acknowledge the victory of Jesus anyway and then be separated from the love of God for all time. (Philippines 2:10-11; Romans 14:11; Revelation 20:11-15)

Luke 10:25-37. Have you ever seen someone in need, you know, holding a sign made out of cardboard and a marker, and simply turned away because you were uncomfortable or did not know what to do? I believe if we were to be really honest, that we have all done that at one time or another. If you haven't one of two things is happing, either you are a loving a faithful saint or you need to get out more. I hope it is the first. Yet, who we help and why has been a question that has been answered by Jesus centuries ago. Yet, we seem to keep asking the same question over and over hoping for a different answer that fits our personal narrative and comfort level. It is time for the followers of Jesus to step up and love our neighbors and the hurting and broken person in our communities, as much as, and in the same manner as we love God. So, here is the rub. What if we are? What if our blatant lack of compassion and caring is a direct result of a broken love relationship with God? Just something we need to think about. Because the reality of a broken relationship with God leads to broken relationships with everyone else.

Revelation 7:1-17. There comes a time for each of us, when we are called upon to take a stand for our faith. It may be in the school lunchroom, the universe lecture hall, or simply at a gathering of friends or family. The disappointing reality though is that many believers when pushed on the issue of faith back down in order to avoid conflict. I know some of you relish the thought of any opportunity to share your faith and devotion to Jesus. Never forget you are a rare breed and never stop. But there is a time in the future, and now is in parts of the world, where standing up for your faith in Jesus will cost you everything. We are not talking about jobs, possession, or relationship, we are talking about the loss of your life for the kingdom of God. But here is the question, if we are not willing to live for Jesus today how can we say we would give our full devotion in dying for Him? Maybe instead of talking about how much we "love" Jesus let's "live" for Him faithfully and fully become of His great love and devotion for us.
