Luke 6:27-31

We do not take kindly to being mistreated in life. In fact, most of us are taught by someone directly or circumstances indirectly to stand up for ourselves and our rights. Most of the time, we live life like children on a playground. You hurt me and or my friends, then we hurt you and your friends. You take my stuff, I take your stuff. You break my things, then I break your face. Well, that seemed to escalate quickly, didn't it? But it always does. Here is the problem, many people who are now adults with real power, real resources, and uncontrolled temper problems living by playground rules, and people get hurt. Not the bump and bruises from a playground squabble, but real life-changing or life-ending hurt that cannot be taken back. Jesus, on the other hand, teaches us that to live well in this life is to live well for the Kingdom of God, and that looks very different from the world. This life of the Kingdom is an upside-down life from what we think we know of or have learned from this earthly existence and those around us.

2. Like many Christian religions, they have a stand against homosexuals and they do not accept that lifestyle. Are homosexuals allowed to come to Watersprings and be part of the church family? What if they have children? Can they come. God still loves them. They are His children too.

Luke 6:22-26

The things of God's Kingdom are not the way they are in the world. In fact, they are quite different. Jesus contrasts the current expectations of the kingdom with the spiritual reality of His Kingdom. Jesus mocks the world’s value and exalted what the world despises. Jesus rejected what the world admires and He tells his followers what is to be sought after. Jesus takes us to the upside-down in order to reset our perception of the Kingdom of God. We would all do well to take heed to the lesson as we live life to the fullest within our new allegiance to God's Kingdom!

1. I have these Bible resource cards from when I attended LDS seminary, when I was in high school, and I’m wondering if these are reliable, and not “mormonized”? I’ve been looking for a chronology of the Bible, and remembered I have these, but as I’m still deciphering what’s Christian and what’s LDS, I want to make sure I’m not confusing myself.

2. When I pray I ask God to show me what he wants me to do and I always wait for his answer, but I get impatient to see what he wants me to do. I try so hard to do the right things for God and sometimes I slip up and I feel God is upset with me. How can I be more patient and not feel as though God is upset with me in trying to do His will?

3. Luke 6:21

There are so many things we can pine after in this life. Money, power, comfort, love, fame, and this list can go on and on. Yet, these things can fade away with time, so we should be investing in the things that are eternal (Matt 6:19-20). We can also be so consumed with our desires that we do not realize our faithful pursuit of them has led us away from our relationship with God into a depraved, selfish, and abusive relationship with the world and its trappings. How do we fix it? Repent, and do the first things again, understanding that the blessings of God's Kingdom are greater than the blessing of this world.
