When we set out to do something in the world we don't always see that other things, that we are unaware of, are happening for us because of it. We may not realize that these other things are the point.

It's difficult to understand the full impact and scope of what we are doing, especially in the arts. Our intentions may give us a sense of purpose and that might be what is motivating us to do something, but the impacts of doing it may be more. In fact, they are likely more important than the focus point we think we are after.

Our nature will take us to places that we do not fully understand and this is the incredible by-product of an authentic pursuit.

True purpose is expansive and it exists often far beyond our awareness. We are unable to know it until we arrive there, only to begin all over again, into an expansive discovery of something more.

At times we may try to change ourselves so that we can feel, what seems to be, the "right way". Unfortunately this denial of where we are at is based on a false assumption that there is a more appropriate way to be. The master artist must free themselves of this burden to actually be able to create with their full potential and see what is possible. We must approach life and creative possibility with an acceptance of where we are at. Trust that "what is", is enough.

Going after what you truly want in life will not be accomplished without experiencing obstacles, challenges, setbacks and forms of adversity. Trying to avoid these things is is not useful, so you must learn how to respond to them with mindfulness. When you find yourself struggling it is sometimes best to push harder, but at other times it is better to come up with a new approach. You may even find you have gone the wrong way and you need to go back and start again. This kind of set-back can feel deflating, but it's all a matter of how you look at it.
