Fly fishing legend and industry veteran Brian O’Keefe has traveled to some of the wildest and most remote angling destinations in the world, including Sierra Leone, Tonga, Bikini Atoll, Seychelles, Kenya, Cuba, Kashmir, Nicaragua, Venezuela and more. Brian sold his first fly fishing photograph when I was 16 years old, and since then has been traveling, photographing and fishing all over the world. His photography has appeared in many of the finest publications in the industry, including The Drake Magazine, Outside Magazine, Field & Stream, USA Today, Fly Fisherman, Outdoor Life and many more. With this episode, Brian sat down with host Jim Klug to talk about his lengthy career in fly fishing, and to share some of the favorite stories from a wildly-entertaining life of travel.

Waypoints is brought to you by Patagonia
To bring their gear to life, Patagonia is motivated by relentless curiosity and a passion for the wild. They evaluate hundreds of materials, build dozens of prototypes and spend seasons punishing them in the world’s most extreme conditions. The work is the guide, and Patagonia never tires of exploring, learning and improving.
Built with innovative materials, intuitive features and a refined fit, their Swiftcurrent® Waders are a better wader experience. Repatterned for bulk reduction, reduced seam stress, increased maneuverability and improved repairability, they move better in and out of the water, carry gear more efficiently and keep tools handy. They’re made from recycled materials without intentionally added PFAS—toxic “forever chemicals.
