Congratulations to all swimmers who competed at CWOSSA !! The vikings came home with a first place finish. The junior boys relay team members Nathan/Thomas/ Hugh and Omar captured first place and Tori M continues to dominate with red ribbons in her individual events. Omar A qualified in 4 events for ofssaa!!! And Ian F is a triple threat heading to OFSAA!! over 14 swimmers qualified - Please come on down to the library right now to pick up your ofsaa paperwork.

Black history facts!

Today we will be talking about Percy Julian! Percy earned his PhD despite being rejected from Harvard due to his race! His research led to treat glaucoma and arthritis. Although his race presented challenges at every stage, he is considered one of the most successful chemists in American history. The quote of today is:“Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.”This was said By Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American female astronaut.And remember, black history is your history!

The fifth CNML Math Contest takes place today at the start of lunch in rooms 406, 410 and 412.

This past Friday, WCI DECA competed in the annual Provincials event in Toronto. Our students worked hard and did an outstanding job at representing your school. Your VEX team was awesome this past Saturday in Collingwood. For those who may not know what VEX is, it is a Robotics competition. The team won 5 rounds and only lost 2 putting us in 13th place overall. 12 Teams didn't show up so we were only competing again 60 teams. Please congratulate Cody B, Lauren A and Tristan O who represented WCI Vikings this weekend & the whole Robotics club who helped us get ready for both Brampton on Feb 1st and Collingwood on Feb 8th.
