Attention all awesome GSA members! This Wednesday the club will resume and we will be having an important planning meeting for our Valentines party. On Wednesday we will be decorating and getting ready for the upcoming celebration of love, in any form. Come on out to room 215 at lunch. Congratulations to Linden I J and Alice M for winning athlete of the week! Linden strategized the curling team through their win against KCI, and Alice has been an incredible goalie to the varsity girls hockey team all season, playing a major part in all of their wins this season. Keep up the good job guys!

More than 300 of you have agreed to stand for peace on WCI's Peace Wall. The project began in response to recent terrible aggression in the world. Those, on the wall, stand for peace in their daily lives and in the world. They also stand in solidarity with all our students and staff who continue to be impacted by war. It's a small act, but it is something. If you would like to be on the wall, come to guidance at lunch Wednesday or Thursday. Let's build this wall...of peace!

Happy New Year to all our Asian students who are celebrating the Lunar New Year this Friday! Also known as Spring Festival, the New Year begins on the new moon on Friday, ushering in the Year of the Rat. Families gather for a reunion dinner. They also thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for incoming good luck. We wish all of you good fortune, happiness, wealth, and longevity (as well as success on your exams) on the occasion of Chinese New Year!

We now have 250 Vikings on our Peace Wall. This peace project was inspired by recent world events and the fact that we have students from all over the world including many refugees who had to flee war. Crossing Borders invites you to be part of the wall to stand in solidarity with these students. Look for a photographer by the peace wall or roaming the halls and share your message of peace. Let's build a wall...of peace!

I am happy to announce this week’s Viking of the Week: congratulations to Lexi M-B.! Lexi has just returned from an international competition in Martial Arts in Costa Rica, where she came home with 5 gold and 4 silver medals. Not only does Lexi excel in athletics, she is also the Creative Head of the Classics Club! Lexi is an all-round person whose positivity is contagious to everyone around her. Once again, congratulations Lexi!

Past contest participants, please do School Day this weekend so you do not forget. Your old profile still exists. Deadline is the Feb 3rd. Have questions? Today we are taking care of the environment. Please bring in all electronic waste to Portable 2 during period B and lunch. We will make sure that the recycling is done properly. Also we will keep any working laptops and use them in our TEJ4MI class. Please don't forget, this is only a one day opportunity for you to easily contribute towards the environment. Thank You
