Renee, born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, for over twenty-five years Renee has been expressing her creative self through illustration, filmmaking and art direction. She shares what her journey has been like with us.
Renee recalls being interested in creativity in her early years as a child. Admitting there were times she tried leaving her calling to a life of being a creator behind, however, not being able to escape it. Renee shares one of her most challenging bouts with the rejection of her work and how she was able to overcome it.
Always willing to collaborate, Renee says she brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the projects that She undertakes. In a nutshell, She's the person you hire to help visualize your creative ideas and bring them to reality. From Set design to logos to direction for film/video to editing and post-production and much more. She does also enjoy good coffee.

In this episode of We Are Crayons - The Podcast we speak with filmmaker Shane Hosein. Shane started his career as a filmmaker on the set of Westwood Park (a tv drama series that was produced and aired in Trinidad & Tobago) during season three in 2001. His keen desire to progress in the industry motivated him to move quickly through the ranks, producing work alongside top Trinibagonian and international industry professionals.
In 2018 his status as a filmmaker was further solidified when he entered his Short Film ‘Soluble’, into the inaugural GreenscreenTT Very Short Shorts competition and won.
“Storytelling drives my career; I feel that I’ve found my niche as a First Assistant Director & Editor. These skills allow me to pursue Storytelling through film, documentary, commercial and music video productions, in a way that is incredibly satisfying and rewarding.”
His burgeoning career has included him working on Caribbean’s Next Top Model (season 1), Locked up Abroad for National Geographic, the feature film Play the Devil as well as the short Salty Dog. Shane has also directed music videos for Kees the Band and gained commercial experience directing commercials for top corporate brands such as Nestle, FLOW, B-mobile and BP. Assistant Directing, an essential skill in the film industry, which he has honed, has also opened opportunities for him with positions on commercial production sets with brands such as KFC, FCB, Courts (Unicomer) to name a few.

In this episode of We Are Crayons - The Podcast we speak with Quincy Ross. As a well-known and respected Creative Director, Quincy shared with us his unusual entry into advertising and how being open helped him to advance as a Copy-writer. He touched on how he is now approaching the use of advertising in a content-driven world.
Quincy has worked at the top ad agencies in Trinidad and Tobago. Working on major local, regional and international brands like Nestle, Guinness, First Citizens, Republic Bank and FLOW to name a few. He has also contributed to many innovative projects over the years such as the 411 Entertainment Magazine, Maxi Money TV game show, the Eatahfood blog and the Chew Dat content hub.
It is this wealth of talent and experience, fuelled by a desire to improve the creative industry and the nation’s appreciation for the arts that drives his passion for doing things differently.

Ryan received his first accolade in 2012 when he won the Tribeca/Worldview pitch competition at the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival. In 2013, he participated in the prestigious Berlinale Film Festival Talent Campus and the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival Filmmakers Immersion Programme. A year later, his third short film How Many Times?was accepted into the 2014 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
Ryan began working in the advertising industry, directing TV commercials for major brands within the region. His directorial debut on a commercial came when he worked with McCann Erickson Advertising Group, on the B-mobile’ Giraffe’ spot in 2016. The work won Ryan and team six Gold Addy’s at the Caribbean Advertising Federation Awards and the Mosaic Award for diversity at the 4th District American Advertising Awards 2016.

Hans is a Trinidad and Tobago media personality. His journey into the world of broadcasting and media started at age sixteen when he joined a DJ entity called The Militant Crew. To him, being on the radio was a far fetched dream that would never come through. So much so that he aimed to become a pilot.
In our conversation with Hans, he shared how he held on to his dream. Took the opportunities that presented themselves and worked diligently to learn the craft of being a top tier broadcaster. Up to this point in his career, Hans can be heard on the radio, seen on TV and stages as a host. He has production credits added to his name and also gives motivational speeches.
