Welcome to Season 3! We've talked TV, classic movies, and now we're sticking with what we love most, THE OSCARS! Our Conversations with Oscar Series is our FAVORITE time of year, so why not keep the good times rolling by going back through Oscar history and talking about the nominees we haven't talked about before. 

If you remember the 2017 Oscar ceremony you know it was a WILD night. We have plenty to talk about, and we're starting with Arrival. Our favorite always a bridesmaid never a bride, Amy Adams stars in the quiet sci-fi movie about the power of communication and its ability to change the world.

It's the night of the show y'all! It's been a short season full of a lot of predictability, but when it came to the race for Best Picture we were strapped in for the ride!

Well friends we made it. This is our last episode of our #ConversationsWithOscar series for the season and we are finishing with what we have renamed Ford v Ford because that is basically what the movie is. If you are wondering why it is nominated for #BestPicture it's because Joy jinxed it during the #GoldenGlobes. So feel free to blame her for the snubs of #UncutGems and #TheFarewell. 

Overall we didn't think the movie was bad, it was fine. We agreed that Damon and Bale are great actors and can make most things better just by being there...although we could have done without Matt Damons accent. Crystal nailed it when she said it is the d

ad nominee of the year.

We are less than a week away from Oscar Night, and we only have two more movies to talk about, and today we are looking at 1917. Sam Mendes' intimate war drama shook up our top rankings and left us excited to see an actual race for Best Picture. Listen as we discuss this technical marvel, and George Mackays phenomenal performance.

On todays #ConversationwithOscar we are talking #JojoRabbit. Taika Waititis' satirical look at Germany during the final days of WWII surprised us. We hesitantly went into this not being fans of using Hitler as a comedic imaginary friend, but we came out glad that we saw it. To pull this off it needed a lot of passion and heart and Waititis has that in spades!

Also, Crystal and Ana have not enjoyed a child performance like this since Jacob Tremblay in Room. Roman Griffin Davis is a Star!

We're just a few weeks away from Oscar Night and we are charging ahead over here with our reviews on #BestPicture nominees! Today we are talking about Martin Scorseses' latest mob epic, #TheIrishman.  I think it is worth noting that we are not necessarily the target audience for this movie, and we didn't really have too much to relate it to. 

However, we do know this movie had some great performances, and Robert De Niro was robbed of a nomination. Joe Pesci is an adorable #BabyYoda looking old man, and after we woke up from a nap somewhere between the hour-and-a-half mark to two-and-a-half hour mark, we really enjoyed the last thirty minuets or so. 

AND NO ONE IS ADMITTING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE PLAYED THE SIME 4 WHILE WATCHING...

We're half way through the #BestPicture nominees in our Conversations with Oscar series. To end your week we're talking about Quentin Tarantino's latest film. We had fun hanging out in Hollywood during the late sixties, but that's probably about it. Tarantino's violent style left us wondering what the point of this movie even was.
