We Have Thoughts!

This is part two of eight in our Conversations with Oscar series and we're talking about Sound of Metal.

This movie is about the hard lesson of accepting the things you cannot change. Sitting with yourself in silence is hard for everyone and this film shows you that when you unlock that part of yourself you can then truly be at peace.

IT'S AWARD SEASON BABY! It has been a truly terrible, awful year and we can now see the light poking through at the end of the tunnel! We're here to gently lead you closer to that light by deep diving into the 2021 Oscar Season.

Our first best picture nominee is Judas and the Black Messiah. Listen as we talk about the masterful performances by Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield, try to avoid a long diatribe about the U.S. Education System, and Crystal and Ana decide to write a movie!

Tell us what you think about this best picture nominee! Find us on both on Twitter and Instagram

Yeah it's not the continuation of the 2015 Oscars (oops!) but this years awards season is in full swing and we ready. It may look different, but we are still excited to talk about these movies with you. First up, The Golden Globes! We love a year where the winners aren't obvious, and this show delivered. Listen, like and subscribe and let us know which awards movies you're liking.

We did it friends another Oscars season complete! 2016's winner Spotlight is an important movie about investigative journalism that had us thinking about another similar good movie. It uncovered a terrible scandal within the catholic church and  shows the determination and hard work these great reporters did to uncover it.

What do you think of Spotlight? Should it have won best picture? If not what should have won? Let us know on Twitter and Instagram

Wow friends we are almost done with 2016! This week we get into the emotional Room. While it may be anxiety inducing we all agree that we were moved by Jacob Tremblay and Brie Larson's remarkable performances.

What did you think of Room? Do you also think Jacob Tremblay deserved an Oscar nomination? How much did you cry? Let us know over on Twitter or Instagram @wehavethoughts3

The Revenant is the movie that finally gave Leonardo DiCaprio his Oscar. It's known for the epic bear attack and the use of only natural light. Well, we are here to tell you that is also a movie you don't want to be eating dinner while watching. Also, we want to tell you about how much we love it.

How does it stack up against the other 2016 nominees? How hard was it for Ana to see her beloved Domhnall Gleeson die? Pay attention because there will be a quiz!

Tell us what you think! Find us on Twitter and Instagram and rate, review, and subscribe!

Space, smart people being smart, disco music? We love when movies know exactly what we want! Is this movie a game changer? No. Could Matt Damon be replaced with an actor of color? Absolutely! However we found ourselves loving The Martian and respecting all of the nominations it received!

How does this movie rate amongst other space movies for you? How do you feel about Matt Damon? We want to know what you think! Talk to us over on Twitter and Instagram @Wehavethoughts3

WITNESS ME! This weeks movie could not be more different than the last few we have talked about. It's not often an action packed movie makes its way to the Best Picture list on Oscar night, but thank God this one did. Listen as we marvel at the stunning effects, and how hard we're crushing on Charlize Theron's Furiosa.

What did you think of the Mad Max revival? Tell us YOUR thoughts over on instagram and twitter! @Wehavethoughts3

Saoirse Ronan had already proved she was a great child actor in movies like Atonement and The Lovely Bones, but Brooklyn proved she was an award worthy leading lady in Brooklyn. Brooklyn tells a simple yet powerful story of an Irish immigrant finding herself in a new country. Crystal pointed out it is may be the "Mom" movie of 2016, and we agree.

Tell us what you think of Brooklyn! Did it make you want to shop for vintage clothes like it did for us? Let us know over on Twitter and Instagram @wehavethoughts3

This is your reminder to call your dad's because this week we are talking about the dad movie nomination of 2016, Bridge of Spies. This recipe calls for Spielberg, Tom Hank's charm, a dash of wartime drama with a sprinkle of real events. When mixed together you get a good film. It may not be the greatest movie ever made, but it holds up as a Best Picture nominee.

What do you think of Spielberg? Do you love and support Tom Hanks like all good people should? Let us know, we're waiting by the phones.
