We Was Watching: A Prestige TV Recap Podcast

House of the Dragon brought Sunfyre back — Chanel & Brandon recap an episode packed with betrayal, poison, and a four-dragon brawl. 🐉

Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where Chanel & Brandon break down the shows everyone's talking about. This week we're recapping House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7 — the HBO Max episode where alliances shatter and the fire finally comes roaring back.

We get into ALL of it: Aemond's disturbing hallucination and his plan to build "a new line of kings" with Alys at Harrenhal, Alicent (Olivia Cooke) turning assassin and poisoning her own son, and the tense four-dragon confrontation as Daemon, Rhaenyra, and Addam catch up to Rhaena and Sheepstealer — where the truth about Jace's death finally comes out. Plus Ormund holding Corlys hostage and sending Alyn a grim "gift," Helaena finally riding Dreamfyre, Mysaria's growing power play beside Rhaenyra, and Ulf the White betraying the Blacks for Driftmark. And THAT ending: Aegon's golden return with Sunfyre. We break it all down against George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood. Full spoiler-filled review and breakdown.

House of the Dragon finally shows us Daeron Targaryen — and Chanel, Brandon and Sharmane break down why his hair is the biggest book change yet. 🐉Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where we break down the shows everyone's talking about. This week we're recapping House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 4 — the HBO Max episode that introduces Alicent's youngest son and pushes Daemon into an outright betrayal. We get into ALL of it: our first real look at Daeron Targaryen and the auburn hair that changes his whole story, Ormund Hightower's grip on the boy he raised — the religious fanaticism, the "superior men" speech, and the brutal lesson at Tumbleton — plus Ormund's plan to crown Daeron himself. Then there's Rhaena, exiled with Sheepstealer, and Daemon caught between his wife and his daughter, delivering Rhaenyra a head that raises a very good question from Mysaria: whose head IS that? We also run the full dragon count (it's 10 now), rank every rider by loyalty, and break down the huge Nettles-to-Rhaena change from George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood. House of the Dragon proves the throne is easier to take than to keep — Chanel & Brandon recap the episode where Rhaenyra's reign starts to crack. 🐉

Welcome back to We Was Watching, the podcast where Chanel & Brandon break down the shows everyone's talking about.

This week we're recapping House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 3 — the HBO Max episode where Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) learns that winning the Iron Throne and actually ruling from it are two very different things.

We get into ALL of it: Rhaenyra's "monkey's paw" reign — an empty treasury, a septon who won't anoint her, a hand who feels betrayed, and a castle overrun with rats — plus the arrival of a dangerous new antagonist, Ormund Hightower, and his crafty scheme to send a fake Daeron to King's Landing under a false surrender.

We break down what Ormund is really up to, his host taking Tumbleton, the young dragon Tessarion, and how this off-book twist stacks up against George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood (including the Battle of the Honeywine and "Daeron the Daring"). Is Rhaenyra's position really as strong as it looks? Full spoiler-filled review and breakdown.
