Are you a planner and a goal setter? Do you have a list of mountain biking features or touring objectives that you want to tick off? Or do you wake up each day and see what the day brings?
Today, we're talking about goals, particularly big, bold, adventurous goals, setting them, achieving them, and how to balance the fact that achieving our adventure goals can sometimes be totally out of our hands.
We're also talking about checking in on those goals, debriefing, if you will, just to make sure that we're staying on track and that the goals that we set are, and continue to be, relevant to us.

What do Shark Week, the Crimson Wave, and Aunt Flo all have in common? They’re - dare we say “colourful”(?) ways in which the world refers to periods.
This episode is all about navigating and managing periods in the backcountry. While it does take a bit more planning and consideration, you can still enjoy backcountry expeditions despite being on your period and having access to a few things will make a world of difference in your backcountry experience!

Claudia’s favourite topic might be poop, but we’re willing to guess that everyone else’s is food!
Today, we’re here to talk about all things food on trip! Menu planning, packing and cooking! We want to take you through a framework for making decisions about your menu and hopefully inspire you to try something new on your next trip.
We share ways we make decisions about what we bring on trip, how Hannah is not a foodie and cares more about the weight of her food, our favourites snacks and meals, and some funny mishaps we have had over the years.
Tune in to level up your food game on your next backcountry adventure!

No one sets off into the backcountry expecting to get injured or into trouble, and yet Search and Rescue teams in British Columba alone, respond to 1900 incidents a year.
In 2022, one of those incidents was our cohost, Hannah.
As someone who is cautious and prepared it was almost her worst nightmare to be calling SAR for herself. But it was a valuable experience (not just in being rescued) but learning first hand how the process works. We want to share those learnings with you!
So tune in to hear how Hannah’s ski touring trip ended in a SAR rescue, what her group did well, and some vulnerable admissions about things she wish they’d done differently.

Injury is one of those dreaded concepts that we do our best not to dwell on or think about when we're on the precipice of mastering a new skill ascending to the next level of difficulty, or just sending it in our chosen activity or sport.
Injuries suck, but it's also pretty likely that in a lifetime of adventuring, we'll all get injured at least once. The more time you spend doing a risky activity, the more likely you are to injure yourself doing it. When our identity is wrapped up in the activity that we do, it can make an injury not only a physical thing, but it can also become an identity crisis.
In this episode we talk about how hard injuries can be and what we can do to maybe make it a little bit less hard.

What is scarier when walking through the back country than bears?
Pooping in the woods!
Pooping might be an everyday occurrence, but in the woods there's a way to do it that's good for you, the environment and your fellow adventures.
Sometimes you don't know what you don't know. And this is a topic that people don't really talk about because it's kind of awkward. So we’re here to talk about the awkward, and give all the low down you need, on how to poop in the woods!
Tune in for important tips, the best positions, the benefits of discussing your bathroom habits and why this topic is so important for all backcountry users to understand.
