In the gates of ancient cities lawsuit and disputes would be heard, laws would be passed, and judgment would be upheld. 

Creating clear rules, cultural norms, expectations and consequences are important for maintaining healthy and safe communities.

When members of any organization know that they will justly be guarded and protected, they are able to rest, relax and do their best work knowing that they are apart of a healthy organization that is seeking not merely what is best for the organization--but what is best for them as individuals.

In the city gates of ancient cities, Kings would make appearances and give speeches, casting vision, making royal decrees, and having a personal touch point with the people she, or he, was leading.

Sacred Spaces, or religion ceremonies, was the first of seven core function that would happen in the gates of ancient cities. 

Sacred spaces to not merely mean "organized religion beliefs" but it is your worldview. Where you believe the world came from, and where it is going. What do you believe the macro narrative of mankind is--and therefore how do order our lives. 

Knowing and understanding what are underlying beliefs are, and the guiding virtues which we therefore order our lives around is the most valuable thing you could EVER do in your life. Why? Because our, true, guiding virtue act as a compass by which we navigate every decision in life, from the largest to the smallest.

FYI . . . just because we "CLAIM" a guiding virtue in theory, in practice we might believe and live very contrary to what we claim is supreme.

Defining a culture of a nation, city, brand, family, or person is not random. There are specific areas that must be defined and defended to maintain the integrity of any individual or organizations of individuals. 

Many people, or brands, have these defined already--but due to poor decision making while defining the constitution of their community they suffer as organization, or individuals. 

But there is an order that can be found, establish, and maintained to live a healthy and enjoyable life.
