This week Lia and Jerrica read Christina Lauren again, a dream duo that they could only hope one day can be them. Lia Jerrica has a ring to it don’t you think? Or Jerrica Lia maybe? We’ll decide later. In the meantime the duo enjoy the opposite book to each other, of course, and have some thoughts again about pov and kinks. Role playing or tying up? Listen in to hear our thoughts!

This week is romance week and let us tell you, Lia has amped up the spice. She freestyle creates the best romance book to ever grace Jerrica’s ears. She wants it now. They talk about some romance tropes and highs and lows and repetition of this genre. But what you really need to hear is Lia’s new story. It will blow your mind! Jerrica is currently starting a go fund me page to encourage Lia to quit her job to write this masterpiece. Listen in to hear all about Three makes Six!

This week Lia and Jerrica review 2022 and believe it or not one of their top books is the others bottom! They discuss the switch from fantasy land to romance land and for Lia, also serious book land to keep her brain active since Jerrica made her read so many “awful/amazing” romance stories. Tomato tomatoe. They get pepped for the newest releases in 2023. Listen in for all the books tips you need this month!

We are back fellow book addicts!! In this episode Lia and Jerrica catch up on what they missed over the holidays, and rant with a capital R over booktok recommendations. This episode is not for the faint of heart or pure of soul. The girls get into a bdsm half fantasy novel about a retelling of Camelot. Spoiler, Lia gets angry. Jerrica laughs. Lia gets more stern. Jerrica gets quiet. Then they announce the next book of the week which is mostly pg and about vampires! Stay tuned for the love hate episode about that too! Never a dull moment with L & J of We’d Rather Be Reading. Happy listening!

In this weeks episode the girls get Christmas-y! They read Christina Lauren’s In a Holidaze and Lia justifies her high rating generosity on it being right after last weeks wamp of a book, Charm. Standards were not high.

Jerrica who is almost always generous with her ratings had a quite skeptical view of the relationship in this book. Was is a step sibling/cousin kink? Should those kinks really exist? For someone with little judgement when it comes to anything romance, Jerrica is not on board here. But Lia has a surprise book for her next that she will love- a Christmas cowboy romance!!!

Listen in for some fun!

This week Lia and Jerrica chase Jerrica’s baby Raven around while rambling their annoyances about the latest Tracy Wolff book Charm. Among the reviews and recaps of this book, they discuss snacks and Jerrica breaks up with Lia after finding out Lia hates… Listen in to find out! Will there be another pod episode after this debacle or have they reunited in book bliss?

This week Lia and Jerrica find a unicorn of a book where they both give it rave reviews and 5 stars! Lia giggled and jumped up and down and experienced what Jerrica called ‘happiness’. That moment was short lived when the girls read two more books in the series from the author that are total duds. Follow along with us on the ride from 5 star to 1 star and all the bad bad choices along the way. Get ready to go from swoon to scowl!

In this weeks episode Lia and Jerrica announce they are now ARC readers! It’s really about time considering this podcast and the amount they read. Each took different strategies to choose their books. Jerrica going off of title and cover - not superficial at all. Lia chose based on description and reviews - a bit more professional approach. This spurs a conversation of “is the book ever the cover?” and which books were best? Hint: Jerrica wins. Second hint: Jerrica’s review actually makes Lia want to read said book. Double win.

This week Jerrica introduces the Golden Retriever Hero in all of his perfectly communicative and positive glory. Lia yawns. Jerrica swoons.
The girls discuss the various books their reading and reference an article of mistakes female authors make for their male main characters.
Which do you prefer? Jerrica’s Grumpy Sunshine Love Triangle or Lia’s Roller Coaster of Miscommunication? Listen in!
