This week Lia and Jerrica identify what style of romance books they like to read most, and why it’s so different between them. Lia tricks Jerrica into reading a romance without a hea by saying it’s porn. Jerrica jumps all over it and afterwards had to google ‘how to get out of a book coma’ as a result. They laugh and joke over what book porn is and highlight some excellent books in the genre! Happy listening!

This weeks episode Jerrica and Lia read an emotional roller coaster of a book called One True Loves. The girls choose opposite sides of the love triangle and Jerrica, being the one who lost, can hardly control her outrage. While Lia is more concerned about the semantics of island life aka scurvy, Jerrica continues to complain about fade to later section scenes. Mind always in gutter. When a book is good it ignites discussion and this story certainly did that! Listen in!

This week Lia let’s our her inner f-bomb tigress while discussing A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. Needless to say, the girls were not impressed. Jerrica implores everyone to watch the series instead staying on brand as it’s a spicier version of the same story. While the banter ramps up, try playing a drinking game - a shot for every time Lia says fucking - let’s get the party started!

We’re back reading lovers!
This summer Jerrica and Lia took a little time off podcasting as Jerrica left the continent for family time, but they did not stop reading! They read separately though, so Lia decided to part from Jerrica’s cliterature obsession to more refined intellectual taste. Jerrica stuck with small town sleaze series and regrets nothing!
Jerrica and Lia are back with their snarky commentary on their latest reads- this episode highlighting Glow by Raven Kennedy. Listen in to hear all about their summer reading!

This week Jerrica is on vacation so Lia invites Anita back to read a spooky book that Jerrica simply refused to read. The girl from the well by Rin Chupeco, a spooky story based in actual Japanese folklore. Both Lia and Anita loves it but agree that rooms full of dolls is just not right.

Let the ranting begin!! This week Lia and Jerrica tie up their romance genre stint by recapping the tropes they’ve read. They get a bit lost in a time space continuum discussion, but get back on track in this time thread at least. Listen in to hear about their yes and hell no’s of rom!

Uh oh, they did it again. They book rec’d while wine’d up. Oops! This time it was not appreciated at all by Lia and she jumped into book two of a series that really needed to be read in sequence. Hook, line and sinker by Tessa Bailey. Jerrica has some making up to do. Lia hated it so much she’s off romance books for a while. Jerrica remains in book rec jail and they decide to move their reading back to other genres. Bring back the Fae! Listen in!

This week Jerrica and Lia celebrate their 69th episode by hiring an escort and asking him to teach them all the sex things. Oh wait, that was the main character, Stella in The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang. Anyways they had a ton of fun living vicariously through this unique and super funny MC. They’ll hire Michael any day. Well he’s only available Friday’s, and with Stella now, so they’ll have to settle for the ones they married. C’est la vie! Listen in for the multiples! That talent is not to be missed!

This week Lia and Jerrica read a debut novel narrated by Mary Poppins. Kidding. Love Songs for Sceptics by Christina Pishiris had Jerrica remaining a skeptic and mostly because she is a child and wants her narrators to do the voices. Lia is a perfect adult and enjoyed the story. We discuss second chances and friends to lovers tropes. Hint: rant coming! Listen in!
