Nikki Haley, y'all; I know she's not polling well, what with the "Godzilla vs. King Kong" battle sure to take place between Donald Trump & Ron DeSantis, but - can I just say - she's the sort of candidate Democrats ought to be MOST concerned about facing in 2024? Yeah, I'm saying it. Now, don't get me wrong; I don't think the GOP voting bloc can help themselves by actually flocking to such a candidate. They're too drawn - like moths flames - to nasty, mean "own the libs" rhetoric vulgarity, but let's do keep an eye on her, k?
Speaking of nasty, the Georgia General Assembly is starting to look a bit more divisive with Republicans lobbing the usual red meat - anti-trans, religious liberty, anti-vax nonsense coming up and all; but - get this - a GOP-led bill is gaining some attention. One that combats rental properties unfit for human habitation. Not only does this delight me, I found myself drawn to calling the office of the legislator who wrote it to learn more about it, and he actually answered the phone! Not an assistant or secretary, now; Kasey freaking Carpenter himself took the call and went on the show KNOWING it wasn't some "safe haven" conservative talk radio show. Kudos to him!
I close again with a little "on this day in black history," too.
