I've been obsessed with "Ghetto Vibes Radio" on Radio Garden. Reggae music has always been really cool to me, but this streak of listening to it spun me to try and make a reggae song myself. I wondered for a while about if I should try to make it "sound" like what I had been hearing or not, but quickly decided that I do a better impersonation of myself than anyone else.

You'll probably hear some island elements, but I think my hands took over after a certain point on the song and my brain got out of the way. I really dig this one. I should put more guitar in my stuff. Hope you enjoy!

Started my workspace from scratch this week and built all my instruments instead of loading any instruments or chains from previous spaces. Needed a fresh look. I'm liking this sound so far.

Spent about an hour building instruments and some simple patterns, about 20 minutes sequencing patterns, another hour building fx chains and adjusting the mix and 10 minutes putting on a master track chain then export. total work time about 2 and a half hours.

I am still at my vacation address, but working one week from there before we slowly make our way home. It is Ferragosto in Italy today, so that is what determined the title of this track.

I had relatively little time this week. I was working during the day and hanging out with the family (still vacationing) in the evenings. It was a bit difficult to find the time to sit down for music (without feeling guilty).

I wanted to make something with Tidal Cycles again. I tried a few new things in how I have Tidal Cycles and Ableton Live work together. Not all of it worked as well as I hoped and some things felt convoluted. But I managed to squeeze out this result. It is still a bit bare bones in some ways. It feels to me like it is still missing some things. But hey, there is only so much time in the week, right?

This track features various VST synths. The first lead, for example, is the GForce OB-X. The pad is the GForce Prophet. The bass and the second lead are both The Legend HZ. There are also some Arturia synths - emulations of the Juno 6 and the Jupiter 8.

I also tried some new things with the mix and might have overdone some things with distortion.

Leaving to England/Wales this afternoon with the family for a couple weeks, had to quickly upload this one before leaving to the airport.  This one started with trying some new modules in VCV rack, then built pretty quick from there with 4 different VCV patches.  Love the versatility of VCV rack and how experimenting leads to some happy sounds.  Should have some relaxation time on this trip so hope to still continue to upload tracks while on the road.

This wasn't supposed to be made on the M8 but I was having trouble with my other gear so went back to m8 and was able to smash one out.

I made the full idea on the Dirtywave m8, then exported stems to Ableton to work on transitions, filters, and add some ear candy stuff, this actually felt pretty good as a process.

The mix is what it is for now, I have noticed that once i come back to a tune a week or so later there's heaps that sounds like rubbish, however I want to keep these weekly beats going.

Loving the push and so many people getting involved in it, it's great to hear everyones work.

This is an experimental rap song I made very quickly on my Dirtywave m8 featuring vocals by my friend and I. This is my first ever submission to WeeklyBeats.

My music is made to express my struggles with Schizophrenia, OCD, PTSD, and previous experiences with Substance Use Disorder.

My friend wrote and performed the vocals for first half, and I wrote and performed the second half.

I scratched up the basic idea of the instrumental in an hour or so, and spent the rest of the day tweaking it.

The vocals were recorded on a Shure SM7b, shifted in Ableton, and are sequenced on the m8. All the remaining effects applied to the vocals were done within the m8.

My featured project on my Bandcamp is a mixtape of my most groundbreaking, fun, catchy Rap music, all made on the Dirtywave m8. This new track made the cut, so it is now available on there aswell.

I haven't sent this project out to distribution yet, but you can find my music on streaming services here.

You can find my friend's Bandcamp right here, although he hasn't uploaded any solo work on there yet.

The art for the release is glitch art done by /u/schoensmeerpijp on Reddit, who (as all artists I work with) gave me permission to use his work.

I'm currently working with several other artists who make experimental music to get a Label page going on Bandcamp in order to form a network of experimental musicians.
