A guitar, a tiny speck of dust brushing its snare, a tiny thwang, barely noticeable, yet, suddenly it pushes itself into the audible spectrum and starts making a ruckus. What starts out as a tantrum evolves into a playful expression.

I wasn't ready to let go of the kick I created for the previous track. (The Blip) So I decided to speed it up slightly, go with a similar theme, and allow for a bit more chaos, and --something I don't like doing a lot-- start with the kick as the intro.

Many elements dont follow a regular 4 bar pattern either, which made breaks/drops a puzzle occasionally, hehe.

The angsty 19-year old version of me had written a wonderfully angsty page that was the starting point for this song.

I don't necessarily fully agree with everything I say on the song - it's a process of testing out thoughts and different ways of seeing things. In line with that, this song is quite meandering and I can't say it's my finest work in terms of singing "cleanly", but it's not meant to be a "clean" song (are any of my songs that? probably not. maybe it's just my stern old kids' choir teacher's voice ringing in my head.)

A quick one this week, I'm off on holiday for a few days and needed to put 'I MUST WRITE MUSIC' out of my head for at least a few days (this coupled with 'I MUST WORK ALL THE TIME' has been effectively poisoning my brain this year, and I'm trying to be healthy and fix at least some of this but, well, taking a break).

Surprising then, that this came together really fast, with some samples I generated from the little Bastl Kastle Alchemist + Winge2 resonator, then started just recording notes over the top. The Fors Tela synth does a lot of work here, and then, while walking to feed my workmates cat, I thought 'what-if a sort of Radiohead style walking bass?'... I then got locked in my workmates house and after an hour escaped, and remembered the idea again, and recorded the rest in the evening while my jetlagged partner snoozed.

What a tale! Anyway.. by the time you read this I'll have come up with art and a title I'm sure..
