  • Week 27 - Snyderman - TED and Dave Again
Inspiration wasn't coming to me very well this week. I managed to establish a cool groove but just didn't have it in me to elaborate in the ways I really wanted to.
Furnace Tracker as usual, bringing back the "TED" from the Commodore 16 (1 Square + 1 Square/Noise) and the Dave chip from the Enterprise 128 (3 Square + 1 Noise). 6 channels total for a lot of square wave heavy electronic music.
Putting them together again and really feel like there's more juice to squeeze out of it that I got. Dave supports ring modulation and a pseudo low pass / high pass which can be cool if handled well, but it has a very limited noise channel. TED has some cool things you can do on channel 2 (noise + square) but playing both at the same time creates some strange interrupts that make it less ideal if you don't plan around it.

  • Week 27 - fetalface - Sevdalino, maloj mome dzanam
Goofy recording of a beautiful Macedonian diaphonic chant, taught to us at Mendocino Balkan Camp 2026 by the amazing Michele Simon. It's supposed to be just two voices, the drone and the melody, but i added some extra harmonies in there after a long day and a few beers. If you want to hear shit done seriously right then check out Kitka's new album at http://www.kitka.org/ or learn how from the best, Michele's website at https://www.michelesimonsimplyvoice.com/
    "Sevdalina, dear young girl
    Are you still unmarried,
Are you still burning up the world?
    I wade through water, Sevdalina.
I wade through water, but I go thirsty!
I ride a horse, but I walk on foot."
(traditional Macedonian, from Daniel Spasov & Vladimir Kuzov, transcribed & translated by Rachel MacFarlane, presented by Michele Simon in 2026)

  • Week 27 - royb0t - generational degrade (070526_086bpm)
probably too much bass and a few percs that are too hot, but ah well. influenced by last week's weirdo hyper glitchy sounds, took it further with some ableton effects racks going zany with a stack of effects and automations.

  • Week 27 - maksy - Two Guys
This week I collaborated with my good ol' friend @Leo. On Wednesday we switched projects so this is the song he started. A bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm quite happy how it all turned out. The verses are a bit lame, but maybe there is room for some rap or so :)
    fun trivia:
    (1) The producer tags at the start are our made up DJ names we gave us in uni. Even though we never were that much into DJing :D
    (2) The triangle you hear around 1:30 was a gift from my parents. They wanted to hear it in a weekly beat. So here you go <3

  • Week 27 - mzunguko - TIRED
Well I was able to bust out the hardware, quickly got some guitar and some drums going on the TR1000. Fired up the virus found some sounds, grabbed a couple of vocal samples and away we go. I had some modular stuff that got left on the cutting room floor, simple not enough time to work that in. A bit of a short week with the holiday, but I got something done and brushed off the hardware to spend some time out the box (I did bring the stems in at the end and arrange itb), a bit more time consuming but working some old muscles for sure.
    I hope you enjoy.

  • Week 27 - scottux - A weeklybeat in 5/4 with a free bonus WIP of its 4/4 remix (also motivational weeklybeats guy delayed yet another week)
to help soothe the pain of no mwbg again I will tell you what that project is:
I'm making some short jingles for my alarm clock to help me get up better in the morning times n such. Alarms that are for the optimistic earlier alarm you hope to wake up to but might snooze or shut off, alarms for the one that you actually mean to wake up for, and a panic alarm you aren't allowed to snooze, etc. Might even have some that tell you what time you set the alarm for (i.e. a specific alarm that says 9am out loud so your sleeping-ass brain can identify it) just because when I'm asleep and trying to hit snooze i don't always ID which alarm is the one I'm snoozing or sometimes even that I'm snoozing an alarm vs just trying to stop the noise? anyway, it's fun.

  • Week 27 - tired_moniker - tired_wb26_27
Fairly simple this week and also probably for the next one as I will be busy prepping for a move to Minneapolis : )
Woke up and gathered a few samples from this apartment, I will miss the particular drone of the refrigerator but looking forward to new things. This track has got a bit of everything: we've got a wine glass, can of nuts, wire brushes on a chair, half full espresso cup, and of course the rubber duck!

I welcome all critical feedback. Can relicense if you're interested, just ask.
A jazz trio miniature: a drummer, a bassist, and a soloist. Week number divisible by 9, so went for 9/8ths this week.
111 BPM 9/8, D-major. A fully analog drum kit with my fav Analog Rytm. Opsix Bass. Multipoly synth lead. For this year every cover art is a photo I took. Composed, recorded, and produced in Vancouver BC. No AI used in any part of the process.
