Wangal music, AKA Drunk Tank

Wangus uploaded the original Dunk Tank in week 21 of 2022, and it's one of my favorite M8 tracks ever. 100% go check it out if you haven't heard it. There is also the excellent remix by ilzxc. Wangus himself has even put out a bunch more insane remixes of the same track in 2026 too. Remixtravaganza!

› Production Notes‹ Production NotesIn the spirit of Wangus, everything is M8 synthesized. Only the closing chords were sampled from a Yamaha e-piano. Mixed and mangled on M8, mastered in Logic. Wangus was kind enough to share the M8 bundle of the original on the Weekly Beats discord. He often makes things glitchy using tables, which was a big inspiration for some of the patches in this one.

The key feature of the original hook is a G-three-quarter-sharp note, which was the only requirement given that should be in there. This led to the microtonal chord stuff at the start. Didn't know where to take it other than a big dubstep breakdown.

This one has been a while in the making, I've been working on it on and off for the past few weeks. It's mostly variations on the main melodic line, except for the bridge, which is some noodling over the bridge chords from the original. It's fun to have a little side project to tinker on when other tracks are turning into roadblocks.

Really really happy with how this one turned out, I hope it does the original justice!

Yo! Its been far to long, but hey I passed the math class that took over all my free time, little update about me, well I got a job which is both sad and happy cause now I have a source of money but now I cant spend my days "sneaking through the woods" ( :wink: )

This is a throwback to my early childhood, and I hope that yall enjoy it as much as I do!

Was not sure I was going to fit in a track this week! Felt terrible all the way through Friday, but then my spell lifted for a bit.

This is a wild one. This one focuses on 808s, a cool acid drop, and spacious sound design. But, it’s a bit buried under being slightly too stylistically jumpy. At the least, I want to say I feel like a badass for writing 2:00.

I don’t think this song is one I want on my album, so I am trying to work on a standalone stop motion music video for this. Some of you may have seen some clips! I think this is a good song to experiment with animation on.
