Kind of an old style of mine forced by circumstance.

I'm traveling with a different setup. No audio interface, USB-C cable I brought is for power not data so my midi controller can't connect, headphone 1/8" cable isn't working, and forgot my mouse.

I used the pencil tool and a trackpad to create this track on piano role.

Experimenting with Open C tuning this week - Shown to me by Home Taping Association - and I enjoyed it breaking me out of some compositional ruts that I have been in of late. Some new chord shapes and voicings have been fun to use.

Been back and forth with the mixing on this one as well - too much bass, not enough bass, harsh high end and then a dull mix... I have decided this is it for now, as I think I have become ear blind!

My Mate Lach wanted to jump on my weeklybeat and recorded me some lo-fi guitar and told me to have fun.

I've sliced and chopped it made it a bit funky and let the ball run and this is what i ended up with

Decided to go with an ambient track after the first attempt became a hated loop. Really enjoyed working on this. Main melody and chord is a hypersynth in the M8, using commands to create the melody lines. I might do that technique again but with more chords and interesting stuff, this worked better as it is.

This is a resurrection of a project I've been putting too much pressure one myself for several years. I can't believe the Ableton project even opened - so I took it as a sign. I had a vocal track I made with Synth V, because I was afraid of sounding bad singing on my own. Now I'm just less afraid :-) So I recorded my own singing along with it, and layered in some synth - which was a little rough, as I've even forgot the key the song was originally intended to be written in.

I still don't think it's "creatively finished" - another incarnation will rise one day.

This song is about a Wishing Tree, calling out to those that can hear it. Come carve your name, and get your wish granted - but instead of it materializing, you jut get the knowledge of how to do it yourself.

Initially I wanted to make an entirely different track that now lies stale and barely started on my hard drive. Instead I had the urge to make something more fun again, something trancy and energetic. Certainly not perfect (i.e. missing up/downlifters, filter sweeps),  but I still am quite happy with the result given I only had a week.
