  • Week 25 - coolsa - Deadlined
I honestly really like this one. Waltz-y time, feels a bit anxious...
As always, I love sunvox too much.

  • Week 25 - spry - Harmony of Hz (WB25)
    Play the game here!
    https://liquidsoluble.itch.io/harmony-of-hz
This song is for a game I am making as part of the "Juniper Dev very serious game jam". The theme is "spinning" and the game I am making is called "Harmony of Hz". Its a tone matching game which lets you adjust live oscillators to match tones and eliminate beats in the dissonance. You are Alanteria, the lead scientist for the Galactic Federation of Light and you are tasked with returning harmony and balance to the galaxy's chakras with this resonance technology. Each level increases the complexity of the tones and chords being represented culminating in 5 different oscillators having to be tuned into a 2 octave power chord.
Took about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon. The composition of this is a little different than usual because it will be chopped up into sections for looping and there is game SFX playing over top of it, hence the more open sonic space.

  • Week 25 - onezero - Kinzua
The last four weeks of pieces had very focused emotional resonances. This week uses an instrument in a more neutral tuning: Bb F Bb F Bb C (derived from John Fahey's C tuning, with the whole thing dropped a major second and the top string detuned). This tuning lends itself to open chords, arpeggiation, or barred power chords...but not so much in the way of major-to-minor changes. It's possible, but tricky, as opposed to the fourths + major third of standard tuning. As a result, this one sort of floats in a summery way, appropriate for the first day of astronomical summer.
Three tracks of Univox Coily, no effects, but an in-the-box send to a convolution reverb. Also there's that compression/eq/limiting on the stereo mix.
The title comes from the Kinzua Bridge State Park, with an elevation of 651m. (Haven't been there in a long time, though: I was last there before the bridge was destroyed.)

  • Week 25 - mukti - RINGS
This was another track I quickly built in a few hours, this time on Saturday. I was playing around with the wavsynth on my M8 in an attempt to make a sound similar to the synths in Switch Angel's latest track, Foundation 1. Didn't quite get it, but found some other sounds I like and made this pretty cool trance (?) track. There are a few parts that end/cut weird, and mixing could have been a bit better.... I wanted everything loud ๐Ÿ˜…. Any feedback is appreciated!
The track name came from the M8 wavetable I built the lead synth from, WT-EFX: RINGS. The album art this week is a pic of my hand.

  • Week 25 - LainHiro - TEKLAB-An Interlude (phase two)
A month of over time hell is almost over... or is it.... Another quick track inspired from way back when I wanted to work on indie game soundtracks. This time around only thing used was Ableton Live and Arturia Mini Freak. I have been so used to being limited to 4 tracks that even when that limitation does not exist, I find my self still working within it.

  • Week 25 - Leo - Slugwave
Speed Trash Sunday! Been on an inspirational and motivational low these past 2 weeks, but pushing through is part of it all. Berlin's been feeling like a jungle this weekend, super hot and humid with torrential rains in parts of the city. Spent some time with friends and going out dancing. Trying to get better about my procrastination next week.
