  • Week 25 - RajaTheResidentAlien - The WeeklyBEAST Pt. 11
WARNING: Unintended distortion! I don't know where it comes from as i have a FabFilter L2 limiter at the output, so it's likely not that harmful, but just in case, you should keep your volume levels down on your playback device or Audio I/O, until you're familiar with the entirety of this track, then if you really enjoy it, you could raise the level after that upon second listening(not that i would expect repeat listening to this track).
I made this track in under 23 minutes, today Sunday June 21st 2026 just before the deadline.
(used older max patches i had and strung them together haphazardly)
not the worst track i've ever made, but also still not all that good, either.
BUT I DO NOT APOLOGIZE -> THIS YEAR SUCKS ASSSSSSSSSS!
I AM THE WEEKLYBEAST!! ...yada yada... you know the drill :/

  • Week 25 - friendlyperiscope - reprise
reprise/remix from another time.  (i _think_ last year, but not sure, may also be new after all.)
in any case, i put the digitone back into my setup, found this piece on it, switched a tiiiny amount of stuff around and performed + recorded it again.  and then i processed it through another thing to make weird sounds.  i don't think that integrates super well, but that's how it is.

  • Week 25 - aamir.art - Echo and echo and...
    Hi Everyone!
I challenged myself this week to sing and play guitar and record the song all in one go.
    Here are the lyrics:
    Echo and echo and...
    by Aamir
I looked into your eyes 'cause I
    Couldn't remember my face
    When I came back around
    I knew I couldn't forget
How long'll it have to be til
    I wanna see myself again?
    I called out your name
And heard you calling me back
But you know before I left we agreed
That it'd be enough if I didn't forget
How loud'll i have to be
Til i know its not you in my head
I came to the end of the street
    And now I'm looking back
Even when I looked on ahead to where I am
I knew it was me when I left
How many circles 'round'll it take
To tangle out myself from my head?

  • Week 25 - Dank Receptor - Mic Fads
There's a new FMS version 1.30 out today with a ton of fixes and upgrades. The updated sound engine with less noise is the only new feature I get to try in this week's entry. Will have fun with all the new stuff later. The difference in the sound engine is very noticeable, anyway! Much reduced noise in the software, still a good amount in the hardware, lol.
I dug out my freshly made DIY GBA-to-minijack clock cable so that I could sync yellow TD-3 to purple GBA. Works pretty well, yeah! Mainly percussion from FMS, mainly acid from TD-3.
Focused on pentatonics and polymetrics for this one. Performed a messy 5 minute long jam, recorded it to stereo through a Mackie, then edited it down drastically. End result is kinda restless but cute.
Thanks for listening, have a great week!

  • Week 25 - FardyCakes - Bumpty
This is legitmately Speed Trash.  Trying to get ready to sell some crafts at an upcoming festival and this was all I was able to put together this week.  Composed on LSDJ, and not very well mixed unfortunately.

  • Week 25 - LeCroqueMonsieur - Ghosts of the land
    For technical details, see below.
This is a very personal piece. On the evening of last week’s submission I told my friend @BurnedOutSun, while very drunk, that I would like to visit my grandparents grave on the way back.
    I haven’t been there for 20 years.
It’s a story any family has honestly has. Time passes and you lose track of it, friends, families, arguing, loving, and just time passing. We went there on the way back, I didn’t quite cry as I was looking for their tomb. In truth, it was scorching hot, close the 30 degrees and high noon. The last time I was there it was pouring rain and I couldn’t remember when it was until I saw their grave. The feeling of them gone sank and I felt my throat tighten. It was alright, it’s emotions.
Next to it was a 16yo girl that died too young. In 1871. Grave unkept with just a metal cross on the ground.
This is a place where families of veterans and soldiers were buried. Many people died in 1870-1871 in a war with Germany most people forgot. Thanks for that.
The next day we travelled through Eastern France, then the Rhine and Germany. All those lands where so many died for useless reasons. We talked about it with my friend. And of other stuff that are in our lives.
Last weekend was the 24h of Le Mans, a celebration with so many nations, around motorsport, that expanded after the 2nd World War and joins people of diverse culture and origins, that can have fun, laugh and cheer together. Isn’t it funny how 160 years after so many things passed, a couple of guys from nations that would kill each other a few generations ago could just have fun bantering and enjoying such a weekend.
    # Technical details
I had bigger expectations notably recording the drum parts on my cajon, but the time never materialised.
I also tried to record odd times but as my friend @dreat told me today, it’s just not how thought it was :D
    - 3 classical guitar tracks (L, center, right) plus one solo
    - 3 voice tracks (lead, bass and some alternative one)
I think it’s okay, the voices could be better, but as always… recorded on iPhone, so never had the opportunity to make it sound better. I am happy with the poly-harmonics and just being able to do something like this.
Anyway. New week, let’s see what I will cook this time.

  • Week 25 - eleventhstage - Become Prey To None
Every sound in this is from FMS, but it is arranged and mangled on the M8. Had a weird time sorting all the samples out but I really like where this ended up despite having to drag it kicking and screaming into something.
    Enjoy

  • Week 25 - TheDaeVolta - Pride
Week 3 of pride month, week three of pride-related songs!
    › LYRICS‹ LYRICS
    You always said
    That things were getting better
    I always thought
We'd be free from our atoll
    Turns out
    That Pride
    Comes before the Fall
    The Fall
    Before the
    All I know
    Is we're regressing
    All I know
    Is things have gotten worse
    The dead sparrow
Is an omen of what's to come
    All I know
    Is we had it better
    For a moment
    In time too short
    Feels like a reprint
    With the pages torn
    For a moment
    Things were sorted
    The algorithm
    Made values distort
    Things got better
    As time went on
    No scarlet letter
    No longer pawns
    But not long ago
    Aggression dawned
    Again
    For a moment
    In time too short
    Feels like a reprint
    With the pages torn
    For a moment
    Things were sorted
    The algorithm
    Made values distort
We thought we had it all
    Felt it would last forever
    Misinformation spread
    And soon thing regressed
    Still a good endeavor
    But now, my friends
    Too many dead
    For a moment
    In time too short
    Feels like a reprint
    With the pages torn
    For a moment
    Things were sorted
    The algorithm
    Made values distort
I do wish I had more time for another couple takes (specifically I didn't quite refine the vocal melody) but I really enjoyed this one!

  • Week 25 - Jason Nijjer - impulse
Had this idea for a jazzy sample based hip hop beat, with chopping samples on the MPC.  That wasn’t working, doubled the speed on the drums and kept one of the chopped samples and some how it developed into this, kind of a drum and bass tune.  Hope everyone has a great week and sunshine, have been drowning in rain for a few weeks now.
