  • Week 24 - walternormand - Rainy Evening Nord
I thought this was going to be my Tom Foolery submission this week, but then in quickly recording an acoustic guitar song I realised that it suited the theme much better.
    THAT SAID
I really like the synths in this one. It was fun to do.
While I was recording it, a man and his young daughter came to pick up an old full-face downhill skateboarding helmet that I had put up for free on the internet. It was an old helmet, so not safe to be used, but it was a gorgeous bright orange and I thought it would be a shame to go to waste. Well, this young girl showed up in her space suit, just missing a helmet. The excitement and joy was palpable - she rang the doorbell twice and knocked on the door. She couldn't wait to take it out of it's bag and put it on. Through the visor she grinned at me and said a very big "THANK YOU" and off she and her dad wandered down the driveway.
The world is beautiful out there.
    set the pace
    I feel I'm moving slow
    take my place
I've kept it warm for you
    do you wanna go away
do you wanna go with me
    anywhere you go I'll stay
    anywhere you go I'll be
    the sweetest taste
    a moment yet to pass
    on my tongue
    I let the feeling last
    do you wanna go away
do you wanna go with me
    anywhere you go I'll stay
    anywhere you go I'll be

  • Week 24 - TheIntern - Radio
As always, another week another beat, I hope whoever listens enjoys. Someone needs to leave this broken radio how it is, it only plays bangers

  • Week 24 - jwh - feet movin'
thanks so much to all of you who offered words of comfort about our friend Andy this past week.
Andy had these phrases of encouragement that he would often say, to motivate himself - or maybe to motivate me. both? probably both. one of those was phrases was, "feet movin'!"
i feel like change is coming, and i can use some motivation. maybe you could too? maybe this little toe tapper can help. feet movin'!
    XO,

  • Week 24 - MyloWhyTho - STRETCHED MYLAR
Back in full force with the M8 (and OXI E16); This submission was done primarily on M8 and consists of three islands 'performed' live; E16 primarily served the role of a modulator for the M8 effects - every parameter was mapped to a knob with its automation recorded at varying loop lengths (for polymeter-type interactions); Additional E16 pages were used for individual track muting and tweaking of various synth parameters (e.g., those delayed sweeps you'll hear throughout). All parts were recorded to my phone and then arranged and tweaked in Ableton.
    Hope you enjoy :)

  • Week 24 - Fàtima - Most Days
Drinking is an emotional thing. It joggles you out of the standardism of everyday life, out of everything being the same. It yanks you out of your body and your mind and throws you against the wall. I have the feeling that drinking is a form of suicide where you're allowed to return to life and begin all over the next day. It's like killing yourself, and then you're reborn. I guess I've lived about ten or fifteen thousand lives now. -CB

  • Week 24 - Mulkaccino - Crotexa
I know you're supposed to finish songs but my new puppy isn't crate trained and I need to tend to her.
Westerny ambient track. One lead, one bass, one noise, one drum track. A bit of automation.

  • Week 24 - DanielD - Akufen's Den (WBXIV)
Extremely odd this one. Found a bunch of chops from old records that I mangled up years ago and haphazardly stitched them together without any regard to key. I feel like this track would be very intense live and would work really well in the right context.
Inspiration for the track (still one of the wildest tracks I've ever heard):

  • Week 24 - MrDave - Nap Time
I had something ready for this week on Wednesday. At the last minute, I decided I didn't like it.  So i started from scratch a couple of hours ago, and this is the result.
