  • Week 23 - mukti - LAUNCH
I played a lot with different M8 wavsynth sounds this week to build most of the sweeping and beeping synth sounds. I added some extra booms to the kick to really drive the beat forward, and bring up the intensity, then I mixed in some vocal snippets from the NASA Artemis II audio and STS-131 launch sounds. It ended up being another super busy, loud, 144bpm track like many I've submitted this year ๐Ÿ˜…. Any feedback is appreciated!
Its titled "LAUNCH" mainly because of the vocal snippets, but I also felt the track had a bit of a spacey/sci-fi sound to it.
The pic is a heavily modified picture of a MR16 light bulb. In an attempt to make it look like rocket engine or something, I overlapped a picture from NASA of supernova remnants

  • Week 23 - 52beats - Chasing the Undertow
There are 7 tracks of percussion and 3 of melody in this one. 6 of the percussion tracks and 2 melody were sequenced on the OP-XY. Then I recorded the mix to the OP-1F and added the rest. It is a fun dance around song.

  • Week 23 - RazbryRysie - A Quiet Morning's Coffee
I was inspired by a video of someone making generative music using pigeons pecking at a contact mic. I created my own using a hot chocolate tin and a stick on acoustic guitar pickup. The rain audio is being process to created gate and pitch info for the piano. The DIY tin contact mic didn't work so well, but I set it up so each gate signal played two or thee notes that were then sent to a guitar sample. I created an audio sample of the guitar for two octaves of the F Major pentatonic scale and had each note randomized to make chords. The double bass is a long loop to keep it some what grounded. I am once again reminded I need to up my field recording set up so I can make more stuff like this.

  • Week 23 - endojo - Scraps In the Yard
Hopefully you haven't gotten sick with whatever everyone else has. If you did, hopefully you didn't contract their complacent nature.
Do you feel that uncomfortable urge? The self-awareness you learned as a child has now led you to only watch your life through the lens. Commentating on everything you do.
I don't need to observe myself living. I need to step out of the film and become the author.
Does this make sense? Did you listen to the song yet? Did you stumble through my sickly lyrics, then come here to try and resolve the confusion?
Sorry, friend. Being confused is what makes me feel alive. Perplexed, passionate, carefully-placed confusion. Stay weird, stay out of your head.

  • Week 23 - nukecult - Titan
Made it with the Dirtywave sequencing Zeeon Synth on an iPad via AUM. But when I got to resampling the Zeeon into the M8 only got noise. So I just replaced the external instruments with similar M8 instruments. The more I get into weekly beats the more I appreciate the M8, and now is way more fun than when I started.
