  • Week 17 - Paddy Tee - Home Town
I enjoyed making this one, the chord progression is kind of stupid simple, but I think I would like to work on it a little more.

  • Week 17 - levelcapybara - decaf & decay
    › poem‹ poem
    I am walking coffee
    awake and undead
    host to the roast
that rose me from the bed
    this ghost floats
    in rose latte art
    and this head don’t sleep
    over the keep-beating heart
Tl;dr - need either more sleep or more coffee. not sure which. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    Happy Week 17 everybody!

7/4, same instrument setup from one of the previous to save time. Good week, not so for my WB submission.

  • Week 17 - LeCroqueMonsieur - Pieds nus dans l’herbe
    Continuing my iPhone creations.
This time two things I sort of learnt were to listen and transcribe drum parts from the ear into MIDI. The drums here are inspired from May Ninth from Khruangbin.
The guitar follow a loosely jazz pattern and the solo was actually pretty decent from my original idea. While the idea was easy to execute, the mastering was atrocious because of the multiple guitars not in sync. I managed to salvage it with some panning. Anyway, this took me way too long to record over a busy week but I learnt a lot. Not my best submission but it’s okay.
It’s also dedicated to my wife, who loves to take strolls or hike without shoes as soon as we tread in grass (we check for ticks at home for sure…).

  • Week 17 - krasher - Bull Elephants
I learned how to chop my vocals with this one, (drum side chain?) and tried arranging violins for the first time! I like the separate parts, I feel like this is something I'd like to listen to. I was inspired a bit by Daphne's sad piano house, and wanted something that felt a bit like a Fatima Yamaha track, so I kept the percussion soft.
I'm very happy with this. The violins could sound better, but not buying expensive sounds yet.

  • Week 17 - Sir Bunting - Rose Fairy
    boss battle vs bad fairy
I like the Fizzer 4 preset wasn't going to use it at first but it's an interesting sound
the scale this week is called "full minor all flats" and has 9 notes
I can tell this needs to be rearranged more and some stuff should be taken out but I didn't really have a lot of time this week

  • Week 17 - jimmac - Rash
This used to be called CRASH as it contained an instrument that crashes the M8. I am yet to bring it up to Tim. Next week, I promise!
Just a short jam this week, barely saved a bit of Saturday and polished it up a bit on Sunday. Next week I'll try to do a bit every day, like you should. For sure.
