  • Week 15 - Philly - Lift Off
    Lift Off v3.1
Hey. My health and main computer are gonna need some fixing up.
If you left me comments I just wanna say thank you so much, I can't tell you how much they meant, in some of the roughest weeks I've had so far this week...
    I'm passing out...
I've been listening to all your stuff but I wanna take my time to write the proper responses and will have to do it when I'm closer to "normal".
    I gotta crash...
If you don't hear from me and suddenly start hearing acoustic singer songwriter music, you'll know that all of my machines have crashed and I've started a new life as a folksey garden exhibit.
Until then, it's glow sticks and laserbeams!!
Seriously I gotta sleep and I'll catch up with you about it later.
Hope you had an awesome week, or are at least hanging in there!!
    We gonna make it through!!
    Love you long time.
    The Philly.

  • Week 15 - mzunguko - ROLLING
The lyrics just fell to me as I was looking at what I have collected. I had a 16 bar loop in AMajor and had the framing of a tune. Added a break from my TR1000, and some guitar overdubs, strings and some arranging, a rough mix and here we are.
The vocals do the heavy lifting it was a well balanced set I believe I acquired from vocalfy (real humans they tell me ;). I have a ton of them as I purchased a subscription last year. I paid for some of the exclusive vocals, but the credits are perfect for WB as I have no intent on monetizing the tracks or releasing on streaming platforms as this is a creative outlet for me and just like having vocal polish for a non-vocalist (hint anyone want to send me vocals happy to put them in rotation ;)
u-he Hive on bass, pads and arps, SubLab on guess, sub bass, Omnisphere and Uvi Falcon on strings, Drum rack crash, kick, clap, hh. TR1000 drum break, and of course my fat fingers on some guitar overdubs rounds out the track, 28 tracks in total from a loop of 10 a bit more work got done this week (The vocals really pushed me to get a complete track).
Thanks again for all your support.
I am telling you, I never really like my rough mix, round 2 is in. Gonna stop messing with it hope it translates well.

  • Week 15 - RPLKTR - adenosinewave
I welcome all critical feedback. Can relicense if you're interested, just ask.
Last-minute squad represent! Fifteenth week. Therefore 15/8. But also, 15 = 7+8, therefore CR-78. And that brings strong Latin vibes. So a wistful bossa nova.
126 BPM 15/8, C-major. Osmose bass. Yamaha Revstar rhythm guitar. Analog Rytm drums (see Seven Dualisms for how I made the CR-78 kit). Pianoteq rhodes. Chiptune arp lead Multipoly. No AI used in any part of the process. For this year every cover art is a photo I took.

  • Week 15 - scy - Other Priorities
Other Priorities. I had them, this week, because this week was fun.
The track? Not so much. Better music will resume at some point, I suppose? But it's a track!

  • Week 15 - tired_moniker - tired_wb26_15
Was traveling, did most of this on a plane with the M8 and crappy earbuds earlier this week. Had to get up so early for the flight today ended up asking for a wake up call, which is just automated now and no one is there when you pick up ._. but the phone ringing and some elevator sounds on my way out was a nice way to wrap things up

  • Week 15 - laguna - GeeFX on tha DeeMX
Pretty tired and sleepy to write a description...
First two days off, back at home and in the studio. I keep improving Estudio Uno creating templates in Ableton so I can transmit audio and MIDI across the room.
This is a quick Eurorack jam, nothing special. Technically it's nice because I can record all the main tracks and the fx in isolated tracks.
However, this mix is "squishy and goopy" as hell. It would take another day of work to level all this.
In the end, I just brute forced a virtual Oberheim DMX beat on it, and call it a day while half-napping in front of the screen.
Bad thing about using various computers is that when you're tired, you always power down everything in the wrong order.
Lots of love to all of you, wherever you are :)

  • Week 15 - ntnf - Space Vibe like Tune
Omg I almost didnt make it, its like 30 minutes until the deadline I almost didn't make it ufff
I was watching Artemis views a lot recently, and it kinda prompted me to not only make a bit more atmospheric spacey tunes but play some kerbal space program.

  • Week 15 - Dustsucker - Explaining The Punchline
..but then it's not funny anymore.
I don't like this one, it is very ugly. This week I was devoid of inspiration for Weekly Beats. As a middle finger to my failing creativity, I deliberately made some horrible sounds on M8 and haphazardly threw them together into this. Somehow, this one ended up using only wavsynth and macrosynth and spans a total of four tracks. All done on Dirtywave M8. No need to polish a turd, so I didn’t do any extra mastering.
    Get the bundle for it
This week, I did have fun with my submission for the Dirtywave M8 Discord Meetup: a track I made last year called “Ghostwriter. It’s more of a demo than a song, really. When it plays on an M8 device, it takes over control via internal MIDI and starts to add to the song as it plays, while doing all sorts of shenanigans. I put in some time this week to add a couple more tricks at the end. You can see the latest version of it in the M8 Discord Meetup video. If you want to compare, the original is here.
