  • Week 15 - scottux - oneiroi first-patch speed-trash
did a lot of modular whatnot this past week, including messing around with more vcv rack stuff. picked up the vcv rack version of oneiroi and here's what i was able to get out of it just noodlin and using the randomize function to steer me off of my own pre-patched plans.

  • Week 15 - willdasilvatunes - R U MY?
i've been so locked in on the M8 that i decided to get back to ableton for a bit... man has my workflow shifted. since it was a speedwrite i didn't really have time to look for r&b samples to use so i just sung on it and chopped myself up. also got to use the Amigo sampler which i've been meaning to get around to playing with! so yay :D as always, feedback is welcome and appreciated

  • Week 15 - Continuous Nonlinearities - Theme for Eastern European Exercise
Still figuring out how I want to use the Soma Pulsar-23. I made several starts with it this week, but had a bit of a challenge turning them into completed things. I tried stepping back a bit and made it collaborate with my Digitakt a bit more in the end.
I rather enjoyed the very wobbly synth from the Prophet I have here.
Bass ended up a bit of a struggle when it shouldn't've: I made a part I liked, but my mixing/EQ were unsatisfying, or I kept making little mistakes when re-recording, and it took much too long to finalise. Still not completely happy on the mix; I think I ended up with too much low frequency content. But I've run out of time to fuss with it more.
The whole track is probably too long, I think should've cropped it around 3min, but eh.
The exercise in question was Bulgarian split squats.

  • Week 15 - Ottimo - Holy Templer
Inspired by Ephesians 6:10-18: The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

  • Week 15 - AiDeRen - Irly
Written entirely on Dirtywave M8 Tracker
    Light mastering in Audacity (normalizing/limiting/compressing).
A continuation of last week's track's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which was the previous week's outro, which...
Hot, repetitive garbage (should try make some garage for a change, eh).
Made with absolute perfect composing conditions (half on the subway) and time (2 hours tops).
A few good elements, would love to revisit this later this year.
Still, a streak is a streak.
    Thanks for listening, as always!

  • Week 15 - FardyCakes - Devices
Starting to hit the creative wall these days with real life events piling up, but still managed to crank another one out.
Came up with this on the DirtyWave m8.  Not the most complex chord progression, but it got stuck in my head.  filled it out with some guitar and came up with some melodies that I'm enjoying.  I would even hazard that the song is kind of city poppy, in a weird kind of new wave way.
I dunno. On to the next one.
As always, everything is recorded using FOSS.  Ardour 9 and AVLinux are treating me very well.  I'm getting more and more proficient with the tools at my disposal, and that's really the goal of this weekly beats endeavor.
    Thanks for listening y'all.
