  • Week 15 - jegasus - Quick Chippy Beat
Ooff... This one was like pulling teeth... Finally was able to get a minimal composition together. Been having a hard time getting into the groove of music making lately. Just too many other things going on.
Anyways, I hope y'all have a great week!
    Peace!
PS: This is part of the reason why I've had so little time recently: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXDBzAPkRgH.

  • Week 14 - prophisee - Villa Bond
Said the last one was the final from the bali villa which is true bc I'm back but my last day I scrambled to make two beats and record videos while I made them for content sake so this was one bc thats all I have. Got back thursday but was optimistic about having time to make a fresh one.

  • Week 14 - TurtwigX - In a Transient Place (Pt. 3)
Final part of the miniseries! This is a fun exploration of different colorful extensions over the same bass. Heavily inspired by a jazz tune, do you think you know which one?

  • Week 14 - BurnedOutSun - shiney
Thought that I have some extra time and decided to layer second guitar, but I overestimated myself so managed to layer only a half and didn't know how to adjust panning mid-track :'D
That's why one guitar disappears, another one sounds quieter and panned slightly left.
Another collab with @dreat on drums and @lecroquemonsieur on bass.
We jammed around the idea and I honestly was expecting to lazily cut it and submit but the guitar on a recording was way too quiet. (You can hear a bit of it in the background in the second half of the track)
Now I think that it's pretty good that it was quiet.
So I recorded guitar on top. Pretty much also jammed the whole thing as well.
Also this week I was messing with my pedalboard setup, and this time I've recorded directly from it, so wet signal straight into the interface, only reverb added in DAW.
Idk why but I was expecting it to sound worse, but I think it is pretty workable setup, will see whether I'll do that more often or not :'D

  • Week 14 - Stenny - HURT US, HURT ME
This week's goal was to play with Waveform in Ableton and get to know it a bit, so no found sounds this time, just a bunch of synths I slapped together in my journey to learn synthesis! Given more time, would have added a bit more harmonic glue, mixed better, used effects to add complexity, etc.
The theme of this piece is a hybrid of two ideas. One is still wanting the "right thing" to happen in the world - for a belligerent empire brought to heel - while recognizing that the consequences will always be felt by the average people caught in its orbit. The other is the feeling of resigning yourself to be the punching bag, be it either because you feel it's deserved, or that it helps someone else, or some satisfying self-punishment under the guise of the previous two reasons. Stay safe out there folks, and I guess let's do what we can to slow or steer the collective plummet.
