  • Week 15 - eleventhstage - Cut Lines And Comatose Vision
This is probably my last week in ableton for a bit, keeping up with my same old vibe of bassy and sorta DnB but not fully committed to the bit. Ended this a bit earlier than planned because I was listening back to it and it just felt right. Good to get a shorter track in some weeks.
    Enjoy.

  • Week 15 - PartiMellow - Otter
Another one done in a hurry before going away. Inspired by seeing a wild otter for the first time.

  • Week 15 - gesceap - Brvsmisl
Downtempo emotional low. Breathe. Close your eyes.
› details‹ detailsNanoloop doesn't have any effects. I discovered a interesting bug, if you push the filter and resolution too high with a short pulse wave it starts to "distort" and gives an interesting unpredictable sound. Reverb on whole track output and basic compressor master as always

  • Week 15 - TheErinWaterShow - Sleep
    Week 15/Song 8
I told myself when I started this challenge to do just that...challenge myself. Challenge myself to finish songs, to explore, to make mistakes, to learn, to grow, to have fun, to struggle, to step away when needed but to keep coming back.
Well, I'm back and I'm excited to have dusted off a song I began years ago when I began really listening to my body and learning the importance of sleep. It was also a time where I was beginning to learn that my sleep patterns (as I'll call them) weren't normal. As I worked to finish this song I remembered the frustrations I had when I originally begin writing it and how much more I know now, but also still relate. I also remember struggling so much with hitting the high notes and trying to work out the piano part. I guess I just needed some more sleep to finally finish it.
Here's wishing you all peaceful rest.
    Lyrics:
    The day is over.
    I can not sleep.
    Anxieties haunt me,
    making me feel weak.
    Shadows are moving
    across the walls.
    Paranoias looming
    messing up my vibe.
    When will I...
    When will I...
    When will I...
    ever sleep.
    I close my eyes tight
    and count some sheep.
    1 2 3 4 5
    and then repeat.
    White noise is playing.
    It drowns the world.
    Sleep it calls me,
    but I can't sleep.
    When will I...
    When will I...
    When will I...
    ever sleep.
    When will I...
    When will I...
    When will I...
    ever sleep.

  • Week 15 - endojo - Crud Stud
It was sometime during the summer of 2015 when I went to visit a friend in NYC. I explored the city on my own with nothing to do... which is really a nice feeling if you ever get the chance. Found an underground ping pong gym and everything.
When we got together one night, we spent some time drinking. He showed me some of his tattoos, all of which had apparently been done right across the street (convenient, I know). Since I was romanticizing the city and my current love of the song "New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down" - I felt the pull to get a tattoo. Or it was the alcohol... either way, I had to make a quick decision.
"James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem has a tattoo on his wrist, it's a microphone input, I love them and I sing - so it's fitting," I explained to him. "I'll just get that."
Great idea, right? A mic/XLR input on my leg. Neat idea, plug me in! Well... James Murphy DOES have an input tattoo on his wrist, except it's not XLR - it's midi. I only found this out afterwards, and I had never used a midi device in my life at that point. So my tattoo was a lie.
**Fast forward a decade to me rediscovering music and WB**
I had spent a lot of time the last few weeks really working on lyrics and recording vocals. I've been getting into midi lately. First time, actually. I've had a full 88 key Casio midi forever, as well as synthesizers. Well, turns out I've never put a connecting cable between the two. Now I feel like I was missing out. Having the full 88 key range is way more fun, and I am starting to add more gear to the mayhem. Very enjoyable. You may hear less singing, but it's time for me to explore...
At least now when I show someone my tattoo, I can actually say I do synth and midi sequencers. 😎

  • Week 15 - rayjkayj - Rust Buster - Stage 2 (OPN/YM2203 ~technically~)
Stage 1 was the big opening with bombastic action with the very energetic BGM. Stage 2 introduces a slower style of play, maneuvering obstacles with BGM on the simpler side that gets you into that methodical state of mind.
Made with Deflemask Mobile in the NEOGEO/YM2610 module using only 3 fm and all 3 SSG channels.
FM patches ripped from the NEC PC 88/98 game “Briganty: The Roots of Darkness”
    The track Townscape in particular

And hey even snuck in “The LICK”
