  • Week 14 - digtacos - I Saw it Today
    This one was inspired by some horror movies and thrillers I watched recently. More of a sad sounding song with downward inflections. Around bar 13 the feel changes in intensity with the introduction of some deep drones courtesy of the Iridium and the guitar switches as well. The synth sound that dominates most of the track is from the Jun 6V Arturia VST.

  • Week 14 - levelcapybara - big bunny
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “The biggest bun I ever saw
    Came hopping ‘round one day
    He hopped his bunny butt to town
    Before the month of May
    He bounced around the neighborhood
    And gave us all the eggs he could
    And when his deed was done and good
    He bounced his buns away”
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    That is one big bunny. 😐
    (What's with the egg basket?)
    Happy Week 14 everybody!

  • Week 14 - myfirstpunksong - DO IT NOW
    ALL FEEDBACK APPRECIATED :)
    Hey all, it's been a little while. Life absolutely took over, but I managed to steal away some time to upload this: an idea originally uploaded for Weekly Beats towards the end of 2024. In that time, it's been fleshed out into a couple of different versions with a couple of different bands, the last of which has played it out in the world for a few gigs which was a lot of fun. I wanted to do a recorded version of it, so a las here it is.
    I mixed it then send it through and automated master via BandLab for this version.
    I welcome all feedback on the mix and the song writing and any ideas you feel may improve it, I do appreciate the feedback from this community.  After a round of feedback, I'll probably 'release' it somewhere online.
    I hope all is well with all of you and will endeavour to drop back in and listen to some of your fine creations this week.
    Much love

  • Week 14 - Crash Overture - experiment 001
    Thanks to emily I now know how to use automation in garageband and played with it.
    Also trying out the different arpeggios and few other features. This week is mostly messing around and seeing what I can do and get better at it and trying to understand how things work.

  • Week 14 - franky - Going Back
    Week 14..."Going Back"
    I'm feeling a lot better than I did 7 days ago. I had some form of "walking pneumonia" and was bed rested almost entirely last week. I did manage to start my song on Wednesday where I made a really creepy lo-fi jam that I eventually morphed it into this song. This song really came together around Thursday but I didn't really piece it all together until Saturday because when I got the energy later in the week I decided to rewire most of my PC case fans, and copy files from my old studio PC's HDD, because after 4 days of fever dreams that's what was bothering me lol. It took so much patience to do so, it gave me time to reflect on what melody and direction I wanted to take my song, and here we are.
    Still not sure how I really feel to about my bridge. I produced half of this in a flat eq then half while in "bass boost" on my earbuds and I'm digging this mix. I was able to turn it up too but I need to have a set volume in the future. Can thank YOTTA for my inspiration with the effects on the vocals in the second break, I really like how he does things. (also #shoutout A-Cow, Coldsushi, Mark.0, WahSp, 2haf and KaZu. You guys make great music and it inspires me to do the same.)
    A lot of you used nature sounds last week in your songs. Birds, ocean waves,  wind upfilters. I think we all are excited for the spring season.
    I also really missed getting my dnb/jungle fix on here last week, kind of sad that there is much less of it as of late.
    Going to leave it with couple photos from this week for fun.
    That's all folks, Happy Easter.
    See ya next week on...Weekly Beats!
    This one is of my song I made in Ableton 12 Standard with packs from Splice and an Akai MPK Mini.
    This is a photo of the rewire on my PC I made the song with.
    The caveman cooling while copying 600gb of files from my 16 year old HDD, from my old PC.
    For the sake of going back. This is my old PC I built in 2009 when I took the journey to producing.

  • Week 14 - glittercritter - Speedboating with Imperial Sharks
    Making a hardstyle kick was a feat and a half!! This zippy pitchy punchy boi took up 3 tracks on the M8 to come alive. But wheeee I finally did it :D
    There's just something about the variations of low bips and high BIPS in hardstyle/gabber that's energetic and fun.

  • Week 14 - RajaTheResidentAlien - WhyDoIEvenBotherAnymore?
    yet another piece of speed trash.
    i made a detailed instrument in Madrona Labs' "Kaivo" plug-in(the strummy string-like sound), setup a custom looped beat file in Renoise, and then proceeded to use them in my attempts to study the new pttrns scripting language which allows for quick generation of complex rhythms and other weirdness(also with a subset of 'Tidal Cycles' language in it), introduced recently in Renoise v3.5, which i discovered from the track made by @orbit_normal last week called, "Drift".
    (i'm slow to update software, so it was a nice discovery for me)
    i do suck at this scripting-lang so far, though, so i just stitched it together with reverb automation and there ya have it :p
