I just rescued some abandoned idea from the archive. This time I went to March 2014... It is somewhat nice to see that when do not totally understand your software, some things come out much more interesting than when "you really now how to do things".

It is just some heavy pad over heavy drums. I worked my revision of the project in two hours, just before the deadline.

I guess it sounds heavy enough, yet much is missing...

Reaching the limits of my Macbook Pro 2012, D16´s Decimort (and a lot of cross modulation) bring the system to its knees.

I'm really sleepy, though tomorrow I'll have 3 days off :)

I had nothing an hour and a half ago, now I have this. I was actually entertaining the idea of just missing this week, but there's something to be said about forcing yourself to sit down and make something. Instead of quitting, I reminded myself it just had to be 60 seconds of something. So here's the 90 seconds I came up with. Bonus: it even fits in with the space theme I've been working toward here and there.

The first instrument you hear apart from the drums is one of the new Hypersynth oscillators. Those are SO GOOD. The voices are from last year's space walk where astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers headed outside to modify the ISS.

It would benefit me greatly to be able to use the M8 during my work trips, so I'm trying to learn and stick with it this time. This is the second week in a row which is the longest streak ever for me!

Aside from just trying to get more comfortable with navigation and arrangement on the M8, this time I focused what time I had on:

- Some sound design (I just can't get it to sound the way I want to).

- Hypersynth in particular. The bass and the chords are hyper synth and maybe one of the plucks. I had another pad like chord too but I deleted it in favor of making my own granular sample on the Torso S4 before I left.

- This is the first time that I've tried to use the limiter on the M8. No clue what the levels are like cause I have no metering tools with me!

Was unhappy with the track from early on but needed to stick with it to have time to finish anything at all. Good news is that it was another week of good learnings.

- there are additional whale sounding things that are just samples. don't want people to think I created all sounds in this but me doing over a handful of them is a lot for me!

I think I could tinker for a few more minutes until deadline and make it a 2 percent better ... but I need to go outside.

A one day track. Jammed on the Push with no plan. Got a big pile of sounds, had a lot of fun. Then the challenge of editing into a track. I think the goal is all about muting things, dropping out, bringing back. I could mute some more, but my maximalist ears don't always go that way. I want to hear all the things, tickle my hairs and make my brain flutter. Without enough listening breaks today, this may be one I listen to in a few days and go, huh, what the ...?

But very happy I got to jam, make sounds, turn it into something. Now, outside as a reward. Good producer. Maybe I'll get cookie too!
