Testing out Bitwig Studio 6.1 and built up this loop with ominsphere for pad, pigments for sequences and stepwise device within Bitwig.

I started this one Saturday evening, with the first thing I played when I picked up the guitar. (That's in the left channel at the beginning.) This turned out to be in 7/4, so that set up some interesting constraints on every other addition. Mostly there's a little breathing room at the end of phrases, but of a particular duration. I like some of the harmonies that come out of this, as well as the bit of swing that emerges from the time signature.

This is three channels of PureSalem Mendiola (first version), with both pickups (left channel), bridge pickup (right channel), and neck pickup (panned center, mostly chords). I was too lazy to plug in any pedals, but did (like last week) add a touch of send from the left and right to Ableton's Echo plugin. And there's the usual convolution reverb and compression/eq/limiter on the stereo mix.

I'd initially uploaded this, and then when listening back I detected an abrupt note cutoff at the end of one section. I'd intended for the note to decay across the bar line, but moving pieces around changed it to a hard edit. Now it's right.

The title comes from the elevation of Foresthill, CA, at 661m.

Packing, and more packing. Going to look at more apartments tomorrow. I will be really glad once all my stuff is moved. It's a real drag not having found a place quite yet, and along with grocery prices, rents have gone up.

No new DAW would be complete without an amen break chop for some classic dnb.

I jammed my finger in the sliding door of my car. It popped like a cheap hotdog. Nothing broken luckily.

Also, this is a jam where I had a KP2, a TB-3 and a KO-Sidekick. All of them with some sort of finger based effects control, which I used to great advantage to keep up with the sick magic by Glemii on the Electribe EMX-1.

As always, another week and another beat. Hopefully y'all enjoy. This week was a rough one to say the least. I'm surprised I even have something to submit. That being said, this one is not one of my favorites, I like the groove but really just ran out of time to flesh it out. Looking forward to next week!!!

It's Sunday afternoon at 5 PM and I'm pretty tired and unmotivated, but undeterred, so here's what we're going to get!

This is more of an ambient/vaporwave-ish sketch than it is anything I feel particularly excited or proud about, but it'll do the trick. Imagine you're 5 and you got super sick and you're feverish and maybe a little delirious. Your mom takes you to the doctor and the weather channel is playing in the waiting room. You can't quite get comfortable, so you lean over on your mom and close your eyes while an eternity passes. This is what you hear.

Missed last week, getting on that horse again.

M8. I wanted to use HyperSyn for all the instruments since you can now use different waves for the hyper synth.

I am happy with the basic sound design but had to rush to finish it today, so the rest could use work. Hoping I can be a little more consistent next week, I have some ideas I want to try.
