Sorry, my vacation turns out quite busy. I wanted to do trackers while on the go, but I wasn't able to figure out the milkytracker in time

Remembered that I've had a recording of the improv that I wanted to submit a couple of weeks back but didn't back then, so here it is

I love the M8, I don't love this song, and I don't think the M8 is a great fit for me trying to make ambient/dub techno. I think tracker workflow triggers the techno-arrangement part of my brain and doesn't really wanna let things flow as they should for ambient techno, I dunno. It's not bad.

All done on the M8, hastily finished and mastered Sunday afternoon. Like I said, I don't love it.

My brother BarristerPlong and my brother-in-music AiDeRen collaborated this week on their M8s and the results are magical, be sure to listen to their tracks! I had the honour of mastering them and it was delightful.

In a trip with my mom towards SoCal to visit with family. Been having such a good time, that I recently had nightmares of me being with her, at her death bed, and me contemplating what even happens in an after life, and if I even want to see family or loved ones near the end. The confusion made me wake up in a cold sweat. I also joined a Discord recently based on Israel Strom's music, and the idea of FIZZ, making hyper complex tuplet beats, with crazy sound design. I love it!

Anyways, life is weird. Sometimes the yin comes with the yang. I hope you all have a non-existential weekend and week! Thanks for all the comments by the way, I read each one and it brightens my day a lot. You guys make my life worth living with such vibrant thoughts.

Optimization, tautologically, improves - to a point. A point in multidimensional space, representing some metricized maximum. But whence the metric? And whither the goal?

One can oppose it directly - declare that art will simply not optimize. But, in the spirit of creativity, it is best to first ask - why?

Howdy folks!

This week I couldn't get a whole project going from start to finish. I had a bunch of interesting starts, but all of them needed more time in the oven. So I reached into some unfinished projects from prior weeks and found this one.

This tune, especially the way it opens, feels like it was inspired by the "Cornered" song from the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney OST. After those initial stabs, though, I kind of went my own direction.

Most of the base had been done in prior weeks, so in the 1h I had to work on this today, I tried to primarily focus on the melodic voices.

Alright, that's all I'll be able to do for this post now. I might come back and edit it later and add a YouTube video and the M8 bundle, but I gotta run! I've got another Samba gig!
