Paul Michael Stephani, also known as the "Weepy-Voiced Killer" due to his distinctive phone calls to police reporting his crimes, was an American serial killer who murdered three women in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area. Stephani's history includes a difficult childhood with a violent stepfather and a failed marriage. He was eventually apprehended and convicted of murder, but only after he confessed to his crimes while battling terminal cancer. Stephani's case is particularly noteworthy for his disturbing phone calls to the police, where he expressed remorse for his actions while simultaneously revealing details about his crimes, including the identity of his victims. Despite his confession, Stephani never fully explained his motives for the killings.
