Today's episode of the Weight Neutral Nutrition podcast features guest Brianna Theus, a a black registered dietitian based in Southwestern CT who works with folks who struggle with eating disorders and disordered eating. Brianna’s goal is to help you develop a better relationship with food, your body, and physical activity. Brianna specializes in BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) clients whom she helps navigate those same goals with an emphasis on how white supremacy shows up in their lives, specifically in nutrition and healthcare. She helps them embrace their culture and lean into enjoying their cultural foods. In this conversation we talk about how intersecting identities can affect body image, what other factors affect body image other than weight, how white supremacy shows up in conversations about body image, and more!

Jenn is a self-care coach and doctor of physical therapy from California. She is currently living abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand. For most of her life, she has been chasing enoughness within herself through striving for achievements and external validation from family, peers, and a partner. Through her rock bottom experiences, she was able to learn how to self-regulate the nervous system to then break free from locking her happiness into other people or future success.
This led Jenn to her purpose of helping high achieving women find happiness in the here and now through teaching emotional regulation. This tool of emotional regulation allows women to open up to any difficult emotion or energy, to then help it heal and transform. There is no need to be at your “end goal” to be at ease and grace within this moment. It is within the deep inner journey, where her clients are able to ditch the stress & striving to create zen productivity.
