(Mystery of the Giant Moving Sphere at Marion Cemetery in Ohio) *** The Handmaid's Tale has found new life as a TV series on Hulu… but did you know that it was a woman accused of witchcraft that inspired the story? It’s the true, disturbing tale of Mary Webster. (The Alleged Witch That Inspired ‘The Handmaid's Tale’) *** Imaginary friends. Are they simply pretend playmates? Or something more sinister? (5 Creepy Tales of Imaginary Friends) *** If you walk through a house asking questions of the dead – don’t be surprised if they respond. IN THIS EPISODE: (Dark Archives episode with stories from May 13, 2017, August 31, 2018 and September 01, 2018.) *** In May, 2017, another 7,000 unmarked graves were found on the campus of Mississippi Medical Center. But this gruesome discovery is only the beginning of the dark and twisted history of how the bodies got there. (The Land of 10,000 Unmarked Graves) *** Dark Watchers… they are mentioned in a number of ancient legends and are well-known in several US states. But who or what are they, and where do they come from? (Mysterious Dark Watchers) *** There is an ancient, superstitious and almost universal belief that certain people possess the supernatural power to cause disaster, illness, calamity and even death. They have an ability to do it with a gaze or stare – what we’ve come to know as the evil eye. (The Curse of The Evil Eye) *** Plus, I’ll share a creepypasta at the end of the show that is sure to give you chills! (Come And Play) *** Mysterious, loud booming noises have been heard all over the country without explanation. But now it has become even creepier, as some men in black have been poking around asking questions and interviewing witnesses. (Men In Black and Unexplained Booms) *** A convicted murderer and suspected serial killer lurks in the frames of the horror classic, The Exorcist. (The Real Life Killer Who Appeared In The Exorcist) *** A mysterious old man shows up at the scene of two auto accidents – twenty years apart! (My Guardian Angel) *** The older citizens in Durango, Mexico tell of a frightening entity known as the La Ilorona. (La Ilorona) *** A woman tells of seeing a dead relative on her way out to do her weekly grocery shopping. (Doppelganger, Ghost, or Imagination?) *** Drenched in sun and perched above the glistening water of Tampa Bay, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge doesn’t look haunted. However, appearances can be deceiving. (Tampa’s Haunted Sunshine Skyway Bridge) *** The rapid decline of traffic on Route 66 sounded the death knell for hundreds of businesses – including Diamonds Restaurant. But that hasn’t stopped the undead from continuing to frequent the place. (Ghosts of Diamonds Restaurant) *** Die without being married and you could be doomed to haunt the world forever – at least according to an ancient Chinese custom. And thus, “ghost weddings” became a reality. (Ghost Marriage) *** What was intended as a romantic getaway under the stars turned into a frightful getaway from a horrible sound. (Unnatural Sound On Mt. Saint Helens) *** A string of murders in Wineville, California caused the town to change its name – and inspired an Angelina Jolie movie. (The Wineville Chicken Coop Murders)

IN THIS EPISODE: (Dark Archive episode featuring stories from May 02, 2017 and August 25-27, 2018) *** The idea of a zombie apocalypse has been a fascinating topic of horror films, television, and print ever since George Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” in 1968. But it’s complete fiction, of course. Right? If so, why does the Pentagon have a plan for it, just in case? (CONOP 8888: The Pentagon’s Plan For a Zombie Apocalypse) *** He appears as a man or skeleton or described as a shadow, often atop a cart for collecting the dead. Other versions have it that he is the first dead person of the year, charged with collecting the others' souls before he can go to the afterlife. He is said to drive a large, black coach pulled by four black horses; accompanied by two ghostly figures on foot. He is known as Ankou. (Ankou: Deliverer Of Souls To The Underworld) *** They were described as flat-nosed with wide nostrils; thick eyebrows and sunken eyes.  Their mouths were of ‘prodigious width’ with thick lips and prominent jaws.  The Australian Aborigines regarded them as another people entirely – they called them the Yowies. (The Australian Yowie) *** Shadow people seem to be a growing phenomenon. But what are they, what do they want? And most importantly – how do you get away from one? (What You Should Know About Shadow People) *** A little girl’s imaginary friend appears to her mother as shadows in the basement. (My Imaginary Friend) *** The story of the Detroit “Occult Murders” is one of the strangest in American crime. It’s a story of black magic, murder, and a clever and enterprising man who came to Detroit with a strange dream. (The Detroit Occult Murders) *** After several strange occurrences around his home, a boy begins to think it’s not his house that is haunted… but him. *** A woman sees a dark, nightly shadow in her backyard… in the middle of the afternoon. *** At first, the young woman heard a man’s voice call her name from the other room – but then came the knocking… for days and weeks on end. *** And, the true tale of what can only be described an alien abduction. *** According to one of our stories, if you see gold flames, you might want to investigate further – for your financial sake! *** A woman is woken from a nightmare, by a kind spirit. *** While we are often frightened by ghosts, is it possible that they could also be frightened of us? *** Two online reviews of a certain hotel in Vegas may give you a reason to vacation elsewhere. *** A small piece of property has just come up for sale this month in Essex. But you might think twice about living there, or opening a business there… as it was once a prison for a witch that was hung there. *** The classic creepypasta (“Bedtime”) *** On a hot August day, with the front door wide open, an icy chill still crept into the room where two brothers were sitting. *** A boy comes face-to-face with Death himself. *** A girl’s mother believes hanging a cross in the house brings problems. Could she be right? *** AND MORE!

IN THIS EPISODE: (Dark Archives episode with stories from August 21-22, 2018) *** Is it true that Jayne Mansfield’s death was caused by a curse? (The Tragic Death and Haunting of Jayne Mansfield) *** In 1966 over 300 children and staff from a Melbourne school reportedly witnessed multiple UFOs silently flying through the sky before landing in a nearby field. So why are we only learning of it now, more than 50 years later? (300 Children Saw a UFO) *** We’ve all heard horror stories of people being buried alive. It’s become a trope of television and film. But for Barbara Mackle, it was very real - and three days of a pure nightmare. (Barbara Mackle Was Buried Alive) *** Funerals can bring out the worst in some people, especially family members. (Window View) *** It is considered Germany’s most famous and unsolved crime. What happened on the Hinterkaifeck homestead in 1922? No one knows, but there is a theory. Yet even the theory is a mystery, as no one will discuss it. *** A mother is awakened by her son, only it’s not her son. *** The concept of creating life from nothing has been with us, literally, from the beginning, when God created Adam in the book of Genesis. Since then though, creating life from non-living matter has been limited to stories of fiction. Or has it? A man by the name of Andrew Cross may have actually done it, and even repeated it in a laboratory for others to see. If this is true, what happened? Why can’t we replicate his results now, almost 200 years later? *** He was so vicious, even he admitted that he was pure evil. But although serial killer Sean Vincent Gillis may readily have confessed to his crimes, and even perhaps expressed some genuine remorse, the details of his murders will surely leave you thinking that he was nothing but pure evil indeed. *** How did the tooth fairy come into being? Such a strange little sprite most assuredly has just as strange of a history. *** A 911 call was placed, and the person who made the call wasn’t just reporting a murder; he also admitted to it. But his excuse is beyond bizarre.

(The Haunted Camper) *** George Barrington was a well-known author… and a well-known pocket picker. Oh yes, and he also says he saw a ghost ship. (Encounter With a Phantom Ship) *** A doppelganger is a strange creature that looks exactly like a real person, but is not that person’s twin. And seeing your doppelganger is considered a very bad omen. (Doppelgangers and Spirit Doubles) *** Nazi camp guard Maria Mandl sent half a million women to their deaths – and loved every minute of it. (“The Beast” Maria Mandl) *** The dragon is one of the most well-known creatures in ancient mythology, and many cultures have this creature (or one of its related forms) in their folklore. One of the lesser known dragons is that of the zmaj, a dragon that can be found in Slavic folklore. (The Dragon Zmaj) ***Whenever we see a pirate ship on television, cinema or in comic books we also see an extremely ancient symbol - the skull and crossbones. This however, was not a symbol of death – at least not in the beginning. (Hidden History of the Skull and Crossbones)
