I wanted to give you tools to carry with you for a long time after the series ends. Self soothing tools to make your feel safe. Tools to help your racing mind find a place of ease so you can think with more clarity and gain control of you overwhelm, overactive mind, high emotions, or whatever you are experiencing. No matter how far along you are in your self love journey you will benefit from these tools because even the "most healed" person (if that even exists) experiences negative emotions. While these tools will not solve your challenges, they will allow you to make clear decisions that you feel good about leading to you living a life of your choice. If your mind gets the best of you all the time or just once in awhile this episode is for you.
As we come to the end of the 28 Days of Self Love series, I thought it would be really impactful for our last speaker of the serious to prove to the Elite that it is truly possible to go from a really low place to a place of self love. Shannon McBride describes her path to self love. For years she battled with mental illness, became a mother unplanned at 19, faced huge amount of anxiety, relationship problems, mental health crisis and post-natel depression. Shannon expresses how nobody around her really knew what she was experiencing. "I hated myself, my life and being a mother and I felt like if I told anyone what was really going on I would be judged or people wouldn't believe me or if they did my kids would get taken from me." She goes on to explain her breakthrough that cause her to turn her whole life around. She explains how she worked to cut out toxic people and habits, grow her self confidence, quit university and set up her business of double award winning mindfulness coaching. She discusses how she is a much better, more present and happier parent, her improved health and energy and the her gratitude for life. If you are looking for a sense of hope that it is possible that you too will get to a place of self love, this episode is for you.
On this episode I thought it would be fun to give you guys some action steps to focus on if you are wanting to take your self love just a little further. While it isn't necessary to grow your self love like the other topics we've discussed throughout the series it is something that will only take your self love another step further. Using Dr. Gary Chapman's concept of "Love Language" I thought it would help to focus the 5 love languages on ourselves. I walk you through the meaning being the 5 different love languages and they ways you could apply them to yourself for an extra boost of self love. If you feel like you could be doing more to love yourself this episode is for you.
For this episode I wanted to give the Elite a wake up call. Our society always alludes to perfection. If we do more if we work harder we will finally step into these best versions of ourselves. We will be fully healed. We won't be the sucky wimp that we are right now. And it works! Because we always have room to improve! So, it's not very hard to convince us that if we just bought their program or followed their social media we could potentially get the result we want. And it's worth a shot right? So if we can't be perfect what does healed look like? If you feel you work your a$$ off to become the best version of yourself and you always come up short this episode is for you.
On this episode I wanted to walk you through one of the major pillars of self love. One that a lot of the time we don't even correlate to self love and one that we may not realize just how much we may lack. I start the episode by explaining what self trust truly is, because my philosophy is if you aren't 100% clear on what it is it's going to make it that much harder to attain it. I then elaborate on several of the most common ways we can lose our own trust to help bring awareness to all the areas you may be causing or have caused your own distrust with out even realizing it. I end the episode with a series of ways you can work to gain in back in a realistic attainable, and relatable way. If you are constantly questioning yourself this episode is for you.
On this episode I walk the Elite through indicators that you are more resistant to your own evolution than you may be ready to acknowledge. It's one of the most mind blowing revelations especially for us personal growth folk because we believe so deeply in being open and receptive to whatever is thrown our way. We have growth mindsets and want to continue to develop. But, we really aren't able to develop as much as we feel we really should be. Somehow we are mentally so much farther than we are physically. We are discussing allowing ourselves to evolve when we want to and when life forces us to. I provide you some self soothing tools to allow you to create a life you are obsessed with as soon as you start embracing your own evolution. If you are someone who works towards your own growth, but hasn't progressed as much as you feel you should, this episode is for you.
Leaning how to rid yourself of your negative thoughts is something people have been trying to figure out forever. It is one of the most commonly asked questions how to cultivate a more positive mindset. And because self love is definitely not having negative thoughts it is important how to learn how to minimize them as much as we can. On this episode I explain to you the reason why we have these negative thoughts because knowing why makes it a lot easier to understand and even love that we have them and then I give you my 3 step process to eliminating the negative thoughts with enough practice and time. If you are someone who's mind seems to always drift back to the negative, this episode is for you.
A topic that continues to surface in our discussing about self love is making sure our needs are met. Today I want to talk to you guys about learning what your needs are. That way, you can begin to bring them into your life as consistently as possible and finally reach your full potential of self love that you can achieve and step into the best version of yourself you know you are capable of becoming. We seem to really forget to remember to sus out what our needs are. This episode will trigger that awareness and reflection in your everyday life and tell you exactly what to keep an eye out for. If you feel you are often unhappy and unfulfilled or at least could have more happiness and fulfillment in your life, this episode is for you.
On this episode, I sat down with Dr. Jane Tornatore, a self-love expert and therapist, and discussed the importance of self-love and its impact on mental health. She explores the process of helping individuals attain self-love by identifying and clearing blocks that hinder it. They also emphasized the need to unlearn negative self-perceptions that emerge from unmet needs in childhood. Dr. Tornatore provides several mind-blowing mindset shifts that will open up even someone with the most negative mindset to the possibility of loving yourself. No matter where you are on your road trip to self love this episode will open your eyes to the ways you could express self love even further.
The idea of this sounds crazy on the surface. Especially because we are always taught to stop comparing ourselves to others. And I agree! It is a bad habit. But, the bad habit isn't comparison itself, it's comparison leading to negative feelings about ourself like jealousy, putting ourselves down, and feeling inadequate. All comparison is is assessing similarities and difference and that can also lead to feelings of neutrality or even inspiration. On this episode I talk to the Elite about how to use comparison to their advantage in self love because most of the time comparing ourselves to others is an automatic reaction. But choosing what to do with that reaction is our choice. If you struggle with measuring your value when comparing yourself to others this episode is for you.
