One of the biggest and most important lessons in my personal self love journey was learning how to validate myself internally and not needing to rely on external results in order to feel genuine validity. I never resonated with anything I read or listened to because I needed to learn how to do it for myself specifically. This episode is meant to inspire ideas of how you can validate yourself in your own way through tips of how I have learned to validate myself in several circumstances throughout my life naturally and authentically. I discuss the steps that I needed to take in order to learn to love myself and real life examples of what validating myself looks like. If you are someone who often seeks their self worth and good enoughness from outside sources this episode is for you.
On this episode of the 28 Days of Self love we are bringing awareness to all the areas in every corner of our life that we have created mindsets, perceptions, and thoughts were not created from our own minds but from what we have been exposed to. When we understand that our thoughts are not ours it is easier to decide what to do with the ideas we have been given in our life and decide what we would like to use to our benefit and what we would like to let go of since it was never ours to begin with. If you struggle with your place in the world and feeling like you can't fit in, aren't good enough, or never meet the image of yourself you have created in your mind this episode is for you.
To honor our typical Monday release during the 28 Days of Self Love, Sarah and Heather engaged in a conversation about the significance of body image and the role of somatics in healing. They discussed the impact of external messages on body image and self-worth. They also explored the role of exercise and healthy eating in maintaining a positive body image. Heather and Sarah discussed the importance of self-worth and body image, and how external appearance does not determine self-worth. They also explored the complexities of body image issues, the importance of self-esteem and how to improve your confidence when it comes to body image. If you are someone who struggles with loving themselves because they don't like what their physical appearance is yet this episode is for you.
I promise this episode will not be butterflies and rainbows and telling you how you just need to accept who you are as you are. I understand more than anyone else that you want to continue to become a better version of yourself. There is this subconscious idea that if we accept who we are that we no longer will be working on ourselves and that is not true. We need acceptance and surrender in order to authentically love ourselves. We will not authentically love ourselves when we reach this image we have created in our head. Listen to this episode to find out what will get us closer to unconditional self love.
In order to authentically love yourself you need to know who you love. But knowing who you are can feel like such a daunting concept to dig through. It can feel overwhelming and confusing. This episode is not going to help you define who you are, but feel at ease doing it. Sarah finishes the episode solidifying you knowing of who you are by connecting it back to self love.
Did we love ourselves as children and then as life began to pile on we stopped loving ourselves? Or did we have to learn what self love is all along? The only emotion we have known the entire time we were conceived is love. But when we only have known love to show up for us from an outside source compared to cultivating it from within us it's a pretty hefty expectation to have that just happen compared to us having to take action to make that happen. Most of the time when we realize we need to work on ourself love it's because bad sh*t is happening or in other words, there's a lack of love in your life. Including from yourself. All you're left with is society telling you that you should love yourself and you're doing something wrong because you don't. Now, alongside everything else going on in your life, you're beating yourself up for that too. If you are wondering what it would be like to deeply and authentically love yourself this episode is for you.
To kick off the 28 Days of Self Love I felt it was important to take a step back and actually take the time to understand WHAT self love is. Because self love is such a highly discussed topic we assume we know the true meaning of self love. Especially because at face value it sounds pretty digestable. Self love is loving oneself. But to actually begin to attain true self love you have to understand it at a deeper more specific level. When we fully understand what self love is instead of just focusing on how to do it it makes the how come at lot more natural allowing the self love to be genuine and to stick in your life for the longer term. If you have always wanted to love yourself or you like yourself enough but want to explore the idea of you loving yourself more than you could ever imagine this episode is for you.
On this weeks solo episode Sarah describes metacognition and how understanding how to develop the skill of metacognition will skyrocket your ability to become the best version of yourself. Using science to help explain why emotions happen and what happens in your body that causes us to experience our emotions in the way that we do. Even better, she discusses how to develop the ability to choose a response that will put us in the drivers seat so we don’t feel like a slave to our emotions and start to feel we truly are our Elite selves.
On this weeks episode Sarah and Sharon discuss their experiences of feeling disconnected from their authentic selves and the importance of rediscovering oneself through mindfulness and intentional living. They also discuss the power of positive thinking and the concept of manifesting a desired life. The conversation shifts to handling difficult situations like a high-risk multiple myeloma diagnosis and the importance of self-love, positive thinking, and resilience. They touch upon the societal pressure to please others and the importance of self-compassion. The discussion then moves to the power of thought control and its impact on one's reality. Sarah and Sharon discuss the importance of self-awareness and self-acceptance, the challenge of balancing self-improvement with self-acceptance, and the importance of authenticity. They end the podcast discussing self-reflection, mindset, and personal growth.
We have over come the battle of just looking at others and feeling jealous wanting to have what they have. I guarantee you will not have even been presented with the 4 things I discuss in this weeks episode as to ways you are still comparing yourself to others. The biggest take away I want the Elite to get from this episode is how to stop living for other people and how to start living for yourself. If you are someone who never feels satisfied with their own life and who they are no matter how hard you try this episode is for you <3
