  • How to Expand Your Consciousness through Better Sleep with Bailey Guilloud

In this week’s episode of Energetically You, I had the pleasure of chatting with my colleague Bailey Guilloud.   She is an intuitive healer, coach, sleep expert, hypnotherapist and lucid dreamer.  She's driven by her mission in expanding consciousness within herself, her clients and across the collective.  We discussed all the ins and outs of getting a good night’s sleep.

    The topics we touched on:

    1. Why she is so passionate about helping others find quality sleep.
    2. Tools that can help you sleep and or heal your relationship with sleep.
    3. Her thoughts on sleeping pills.
    4. Why REM sleep is the hardest to get but also the most important.
    5. The added pressure that insomnia brings when you don’t know why you can’t sleep or stress is keeping you awake and what you can do.
    6. How having an external source for energy, like coffee, is interfering with our ability to really connect to our sleep cycle.

    Quotes

“For me it was always a combination of things, it was hard for me to fall asleep...I had a lot of mind chatter...our minds chatter a lot and then would translate into me not being able to sleep but also in me waking up anxious in the middle of the night or too early.”

“There are so many holistic remedies to help you to sleep more, I think sleeping pills should be a last resort unless you are already taking them.”

“Melatonin doesn’t produce sleep, but it does determine what time you are sleeping...so having regulated balance hormones is key.”

“A lot of us are not aware of how long coffee has an effect on us...a lot of us have a cultural obsession or identity around coffee...but we need to take a realistic perspective…”

  • Honoring that Inner Questioning and Why You Have to Do What Lights You Up with Beate Sifkovits

In this week’s episode of Energetically You, I had the joy of chatting with my colleague Beate Sifkovits.  She is an award-winning mindset coach who helps women turn their passion into a profession and become ALL BOSS. Spending over ten years on self-discovery, working with the best practices, tools and thought leaders to discover how to unlock the human potential, Beate decided to leave the corporate world to follow her passion.

    The topics we touched on:

    1. Why she knew deep down she couldn’t find all the answers while feeling burnout.
    2. That one moment she knew she had to follow her dreams.
    3. Some of the techniques she uses to guide women to own their inner knowing that they are meant for something bigger.
    4. The one thing from her childhood that triggered her decision to leave her corporate job.
    5. Why she doesn’t regret one month in her corporate job.

    Quotes

“I knew, I’m not going to find it while I’m in this rat race.”

“The moment I had taken that leap, things started to happen...The more space allowed, allowing things to evolve and embracing the uncertainty and just seeing what happens just one step at a time...that was when it occurred to me that it was kind of really obvious [what I should be doing.]”

“It needs to come from somewhere, you need to have learned your lessons before you can really help people transform in the same way.”

“What’s the kind of lifestyle I want in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years...What does that actually look like?  ...Half the battle is finding what it is that you want, and then building a road map.”

“Values are our strongest driver in life, they are really what we get up in the morning...and we underestimate how powerful they are.  When things don’t go all that well in life, whether it is work or relationships it is often down to values being compromised.”

  • Suzanne Catty on Plant Whispering & Politics

In this week’s episode of Energetically you, I had the opportunity to interview Suzanne Catty about all things natural health. Suzanne Catty is a plant whisperer and curious human. After 19 years in the music industry doing international marketing and band management, Suzanne returned to her first love, plants and healing.  This conversation runs deep and takes a lot of twists + turns.

The top questions we will be asking ourselves throughout the episode include:

    • How being raised as an activist shapes her world view and thought process in terms of the ripple effect.
    • The current state of one of her many passion projects is to develop a natural project for the aquaculture industry.
    • Her thoughts on social media and how she is working with clients to help them contextualize the fear-based news cycle + social media.
    • Her deep history and love for the healing power of plants.
    • What really are essential oils & hydrosols?

    Quotes:

“At the end of the day the only person who will heal you, is yourself.”

“Bring green into your life any way you can.”

“I’m pretty hard-core. I have been an activist my whole life, I was raised that way.”

“If we are talking about information, its context, context, context...otherwise it is just data.”

“I come from a long line of witches.”

“Much of the world still resorts to go out into nature to harvest their remedies,”

“When it comes to your health, ‘good enough’ is often not fine... it isn’t about being the best.  It (natural healthcare) is about being the most precise, the most appropriate for that person, at that moment in time.”

The first 5 years Catty worked as a Natural Health Practitioner saw her research and develop an understanding of hydrosols, the co-product of essential oil distilling. She literally wrote the book and "Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy" turned a waste product into a global commodity and established a new healing modality. • Vanessa Aviles on Uncovering Your Deepest Limiting Beliefs

In this week’s episode of Energetically You, I had the joy of chatting with my friend and colleague Vanessa Aviles.  She is a certified Life & Mindset Coach who uses a variety of positive psychology tools like NLP, EFT, T.I.M.E Techniques & Clinical Hypnosis to help create quicker inner shifts. What sets her apart is that she’s a dot connector, root excavator, and pattern breaker.

    The topics we touched on:

    1. What is your third eye and how you can teach your kids to trust their intuition.
    2. What are the 4 Pillars to the perfect limiting belief busting morning routine?
    3. What is EFT and what can it do for you?
    4. How she brings her Greek roots into her life and coaching.
    5. Why women need to own our need to feel good and master the gentle tension between our masculine and feminine energies.

    Quotes

“I remember that moment, it was like a weird time travel, because this lesson [that my Mom taught me at 7 years old] literally guided me out of circumstances where I could have been dead.”

“Where is your knowing and doing gap?”

“Journaling is a big one for grounding and self-discovery.”

“I think the big thing is feeling good...being ok with feeling good while we are growing.  Being ok with where I’m at while still pushing for the next level. That beautiful tension balance between the two. ”

    More from Vanessa:

She helps her clients uncover their deepest limiting beliefs that have been holding them back so they can step into their power as a co-creator of the most beautiful life they could ever imagine.

Essentially, she helps them navigate their external world through their internal compass.

What sets her apart is that she is a dot connector, root excavator, and pattern breaker. Her goal is to teach & mentor while having fun!

While she does have years of life, mindset, and business/career experience to help guide women to their external successes, her personal experience with loss, trauma, and feelings of being an “outsider” have helped create a safe space where her clients feel comfortable getting vulnerable and real. That’s where the real inner change begins.

  • 5 things you need to know to get the sleep you need and wake up refreshed and energized

In this week’s episode of Energetically You I am focusing on Why You Should Make Getting A Good Night’s Sleep A Major Priority In Your Life, And How You Can Make That Happen.  This is taken from a recent interview I did with Thrive Global and Authority Magazine.

Here are 5 things you need to know to get the sleep you need and wake up refreshed and energized:

    1. Renew Your Connection to the Sun!
    2. Hydration is key! Drink water first off, not coffee.
    3. Caffeine or other stimulants such as sugar might be having a bigger effect than you appreciate!  Make sure you check your supplements for ginseng, maca root and green tea to ensure you are not ingesting a natural stimulant before bed.
    4. Bedtime Routine is so important especially in our increasingly digital lives. Create a bedtime ritual, even just a few minutes to signal to your mind, body and specifically your nervous system that you can ‘power down’.
    5. Alcohol has a huge impact on the quality of our sleep. Being more mindful about our weekday consumption before bed could radically improve our sleep quality because while our body is working to detoxify itself from alcohol it is not able to do the higher level preventative and restorative work like memory sorting or monitoring aging cells to making sure they don’t wreak havoc on our system.

  • Chef Nathalia Toro on How Plant-based Living + Intuitive Eating Saved Her Life

In this week’s episode of Energetically You, I had the joy of chatting with Chef Nathalia. Chef Nathi Toro is a plant-based chef, educator and nutritionist focused on women’s health and helping humans have a healthy relationship with food.  After a cancer diagnosis at a young age she turned her health around by following her intuition and switching to a plant-based diet.  10 years later she is still cancer free.

    The topics we touched on:

    1. How to navigate eating a plant-based diet with your meat-eating family.
    2. Why you shouldn’t underestimate your loved one’s ability to change.
    3. How to break down common misconceptions around meat equals muscle.
    4. The impact stress and the Standard American Diet (SAD) has on your risk for cancer.
    5. Why being extremely restrictive in what you eat can become an unhealthy obsession, even when you are obsessed with being healthy.

    Quotes

“I can eat super healthy and sometimes I eat whatever is available.”

“It was really nice to be able to be compassionate enough with them and they were a mirror to myself as to how much I needed compassion for my own body and not be super strict at all times.”

    More from Nathi Toro:

I am a plant based chef, educator and nutritionist focused on women’s health and helping humans have a healthy relationship with food. I was born in Colombia and moved to America when I was 15. My dream to become a doctor changed when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and when I showed some signs of precancerous cells in my body. Since then I’ve gone through a lot of processes to understand my body and what the power of food has in our well-being.

Since then I have adopted a plant based diet, was able to reduce inflammation in my body, cancer is gone and my autoimmune has resolved without the use of western medicine.

Through my years of experience as an educator I have seen the need to get rid of the diet mentality and adopt a more holistic approach to food. I have been like many of us sucked into the societal standard and after many ups and downs I’ve come to discover the power of the mind when it comes to our food choices. I long to share that intuitive eating can be flexible, fun, exciting and above all freeing.
