The Wests Tigers might not have got the points against the Raiders yesterday, but the side didn't lose any fans. In what was another close loss, Wests Tigers collected their ninth straight defeat, putting the club on its second-worst-ever losing streak. But were there some glimmers of hope in the 22-18 loss to the Raiders? Eddie Otto, Garry Watson, and special guest host Kelly Hollis pull apart the Tiger's performance in the nation's capital. Some of the key talking points from the match review include:
    • The improved performance of Luke Brooks
    • David Nofoaluma's 100 tries for the club (but also his recent form)
    • Is Jahream Bula starting to feel the grind of the NRL?
    • Why do we make so many dumb plays?
And, of course, Eddie, Garry, and Kelly take a look at some of the poor officiating the side was exposed to, including Canberra's two very questionable forward pass tries. Away from the match against Canberra, the guys also take a look at the strongly rumored signing of Jayden Sullivan. Is a four-year deal for the dangerous, but inconsistent young Dragon a good one for the club? And just where do we see him lining up in the Tigers team in 2024? While the guys also take a look over the Wests Tigers NRLW loss to Canberra as well. It's a big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast after another frustrating day at the office, we still hope you enjoy it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Another Wests Tigers season of pain and agony is starting to draw towards a conclusion with just five games to go. This Sunday the Wests Tigers travel down to Canberra to face the hot and cold Raiders, will this game be a rare win for the boys in black, gold, and white? Eddie Otto, Declan McCutcheon, and Steve Stretton discuss our chances in the nation's capital on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. The Wests Tigers are, of course, playing for nothing more than pride now, so, what is the motivation for a struggling team like ours? The boys take a look at what the players might be playing for, and whether these situations highlight the need for a draft in our game. There's also a full discussion around the 2024 Wests Tigers roster with a view to identifying which areas remain recruitment priorities heading into the new season. And the guys take a look at who among the current players should be re-signed for 2024 and beyond, including one player that a podcast team member should be offered a first in our club's history - a ten-year contract! The Wests Tigers traveled to Tamworth last week and while it looks like another successful trip to regional NSW, the club again failed on the field. Playing against a Souths team looking to get back on track, the Tigers tried hard but our weaknesses were on again on show when the opportunity to achieve success was on offer. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes, Steve Stretton, and Garry Watson take a closer look back at Friday night's match. Post-match, Tim Sheens said the club still needs to recruit and also needs a bit more experience too, we take a look at the areas of the roster that the Head Coach might be referencing. He also said the team is a two to three-year project - does that mean that there's plenty more pain ahead for Wests Tigers fans? We talk David Nofoaluma and John Bateman and how the experienced pair seem to be struggling in recent times. There's also a discussion around an on-field strategy that seems to not be working for our team - short dropouts! Reports say Shawn Blore might be off to Super League, we give our thoughts on that, as well as linking Payne Haas to the report that the Wests Tigers are targetting a NSW Origin star for 2025 and beyond. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes, Garry Watson, and Declan McCutcheon preview that game. There's also an update in regard to our petition calling for an external review of the administration and governance of the Wests Tigers, if you haven't yet signed that petition, please do so here. Jayden Sullivan has toured the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence, we discuss the latest regarding the unwanted Dragon and what he might bring to the Tigers if he comes our way. There are rumours around that suggest Aidan Sezer has already put pen to paper with the Tigers, what will a Sezer - Fainu - Sullivan combo look like for the Wests Tigers in 2024? We play a round of Buy, Sell, or Hold with questions surrounding a number of Wests Tigers issues, in particular relating to the fans and the board. The Wests Tigers have all but locked up the dreaded Wooden Spoon for a second straight year with an 18-14 loss to the Dragons. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Eddie Otto and Declan McCutcheon for a quick look back at the Wollongong clash. Why only a quick look? Well, there weren't very many positives to be highlighted again from our side. In saying that, there are some potential bright spots that are worthy of discussion. Firstly, our very own petition which is calling for an independent review into the administration and governance of the club. Joel gives an update on that. If you haven't already, please sign the petition today. Also, it looks like young Dragons half, Jayden Sullivan might be on his way to Tiger Town. We discuss how he might fit into the 2024 Wests Tigers team along with the Fainu brothers and potentially Aidan Sezer too. There's a look at the confirmation that Daine Laurie is returning to Penrith, and we discuss the Wests Tigers coaching situation, asking the question - is Benji Marshall just better off taking over as Head Coach next year? We hope you enjoy this Friday edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Wests Tigers continue to splutter and stutter from one crisis to the next - and this coming week looks no different. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto is joined by Steve Stretton for an update on our own petition calling for a thorough external review of the Wests Tigers administration. We thank everyone who has signed that petition and left their comments too - it is both very humbling to see the support, but also an eye-opener regarding just how much frustration and even anger there appears to be in the fan base. If you haven't done so yet, please sign the petition which can be found by following this link. The boys also take a look at what might be unfolding at Concord right now with an emergency meeting being held today to discuss the ongoing issues between Benji Marshall and Scott Fulton (interestingly, Tim Sheens was not invited). Is someone going to be making an exit from the club? What is going to be the circuit breaker here? Eddie and Steve have their say on that. Further to those issues, the boys also take a look at what these ongoing issues could mean not just for future recruitment, but also our current playing squad. There's also a look back at yet another loss, this time the Wests Tigers performance on Friday night against the Newcastle Knights. Steve and Eddie are honest, and fairly angry too, please don't miss this latest edition of the pod! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
