What a topsy-turvy night it was at Campbelltown Stadium on Friday night! One minute disappointment, then hope, then the next minute, heartbreak. The Wests Tigers again went down to Canberra, albeit in circumstances very different to our recent history with the Green Machine. This time it was close, just one point in it, with a controversial penalty in front of the sticks proving the difference. But was it the right decision by the ref? There is some difference of opinion amongst the Wests Tigers Podcast boys. Beyond that frustrating ending to the match, Eddie Otto and Garry Watson discuss the plusses and minuses of the most recent Wests Tigers performance. They also ask, why is it we never seem to be able to win really tight games, and in particular the really key moments in these clashes. Eddie and Garry also discuss the push on Luke Brooks in a crucial Raiders try, and try to look for some of the positives out of the game. Does the better form mean we have only a small handful of positions that need upgrading? And Buy, Sell, or Hold is back as well with some really interesting topics put up around home grounds, Stefano Utoikamanu for State of Origin, and Tyson Frizell.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After a weekend off, Wests Tigers are back in action this Friday night when they take on the Raiders. The Campbelltown Stadium clash against the 'Green Machine' comes after a bye and with the team very slowly moving up the ladder. But can the Tigers keep that momentum? That's just one question Eddie Otto, Garry Watson, and Steve Stretton try to answer. There's a look at the decision to rest Jarrod Crocker, is that a sign of disrespect by Canberra for the Tigers? And, should that be some extra motivation? While the boys take a look at the Wests Tigers side named for the clash and ask, should Api Korisau back up just 48 hours after playing Origin for NSW? Eddie brings back the Wests Tigers Draft on this edition, and something a little different this time - a draft of all the Wests Tigers players coming off contract in the next three years. While Eddie, Steve and Garry channel their inner school teachers and hand out the mid-term Wests Tigers grades. And Yioti is putting the guys to the test with his latest Wests Tigers Quiz. Let's hope for another Wests Tigers win against the Raiders, and in the meantime, don't forget to have your say on everything Wests Tigers on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Wests Tigers might be having a well-earned rest this weekend, however, there's still plenty to talk about. We kick off this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with news that has saddened the rugby league community, the death of Tina Turner. While not Wests Tigers related, Tina made a big contribution to our game and we look at how she helped change our game so significantly.  Then it's into the Wests Tigers discussion with Joel Helmes and Garry Watson taking a look at the now-confirmed move from Wests Tigers to Parramatta of Joe Ofahengue. That move brings up some interesting questions that we try to answer, including:
    • Who should replace Joe on the bench for next week's game against Canberra?
    • Does the contract backflip show we are still a bit all over the shop with forward planning?
    • Is Tyson Frizell really the guy we want in return?
This also leads us into a discussion around the importance of stability and consistency in key football positions, something Wests Tigers hasn't had in years. We take a look at which positions require strengthening for 2024 and beyond and play a new game 'Through the Shredder'. Another Wests Tigers issue that is on the boil at the moment is the home-ground situation with Wests Tigers confirming we'd be back at Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium in 2024. Joel and Garry take a look at that decision as well as options to make both grounds more up-to-date in the coming years. There's also plenty of feedback by way of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, and thank you to everyone that has signed up and contributes their opinions and thoughts there. While Yioti has sent in a cracker of a quiz! We hope you enjoy this big bye weekend version of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we'll be back with another shortly.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How sweet it is! The Wests Tigers finally clicked into gear with a record-breaking performance against the Cowboys. In front of a joyous Leichhardt Oval crowd, Wests Tigers put the cleaners through North Queensland in a night most of us won't quickly forget. Hit play or download this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast to hear what Eddie Otto, Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and Garry Watson thought about the Tiger's performance. The guys take a look at some of the big questions, including:
    • What are we doing differently from a month ago?
    • How the team has developed a better understanding of each other?
    • Why is the Brooks and Wakeham combo starting to work?
    • Is our season really over?
The big night at Leichhardt was a career highlight for 200 game man Luke Brooks and 50 NRL game player Starford To'a, both of whom starred and come in for plenty of praise on this edition. Declan lets us know about some promising players in the junior ranks who look likely to be future NRL players. There's another look at the likely loss of Joe Ofahengue to Parramatta, and the rumours that Tyson Frizell will be coming our way. And the Draft, and Buy, Sell, or Hold also feature. It's been a record-setting few days for the Wests Tigers and we really hope you enjoy this big post-win edition of the pod.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The mid-week edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast brings plenty of healthy Wests Tigers discussion. On this edition, Eddie Otto is joined by Garry Watson and Joel Helmes for a look at a number of tasty Wests Tigers issues. First up, Luke Brooks. The long-serving Wests Tiger plays his 200th game for the club this weekend. We take a look back at his career, including the highs and lows. Joe Ofahengue might be about to exit Concord. Is this a good move for the club and the player? Are we getting someone in return? And, if Joe O does move on, who replaces him in the Wests Tigers side? Joel comes up with a crazy left-field NRL idea that gets quickly shot down by Eddie and Garry! Las Vegas gets a mention on this edition as well. Eddie has another round of Buy, Sell, or Hold with some great Wests Tigers topics. There's a preview of the Cowboys game at Leichhardt Oval, and we look at whether the famous ground now holds any advantage for the team.  And strap in for another edition of Yioti's Quiz.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We're running a little behind with the Wests Tigers Podcast this week, but it's a case of good things do come to those who wait! Eddie Otto has jumped into the hosting chair and is joined by Garry Watson and Declan McCutcheon for this edition. The boys take a look back at the Wests Tigers' performance against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Saturday afternoon. The game left a lot of us scratching our heads - was it a good game by the Tigers? Have we completely forgotten how to play attacking football? And, should we be disappointed that we didn't push the table-topping Bunnies for a win? Eddie, Garry, and Declan try to make sense of it all. There's plenty of listener and Wests Tigers Podcast Forum member feedback too! Eddie invents a new game - true or false. The Draft has returned for another week. This time Eddie gives the other guys three draft picks each on a number of pressing Wests Tigers issues, Shaun Johnson is apparently in the mix to come to the Wests Tigers for the next two seasons, good move? And what does this mean for Brooks and Wakeham in 2024? And what do the boys make of the Anthony Field story that dominated Wests Tigers chatter last week?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The mid-week edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast is warmed up and ready to go! On this edition, Eddie Otto is joined by Declan McCutcheon and Garry Watson for a look at the latest from Concord. The boys discuss the signing of young Bulldogs halfback, Iveson Matai. Is he a genuine chance to be the club's first-grade half in the coming years? There's another look back at the last-minute try-saving work done by Isaiah Papali’i and Jahream Bula against the Dragons on Sunday. Naturally, there's a preview of the game this weekend against Souths, including some discussion around why and how we seem to always be competitive against the normally high-flying Rabbitohs. Stefano Utoikamanu has put his hand up as a future Wests Tigers captain, would this be a good move for the club and the player? Eddie has prepared another round of Buy, Sell, and Hold. This time questions relate to Wests Tigers players including Shawn Blore and Api Korisau. Then get ready for the latest Draft with Garry and Declan given a chance to nominate their best-ever Wests Tigers player and worst Wests Tigers coach! And what would a mid-week edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast be without a round of Yioti's Quiz?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Oh, what a feeling! Wests Tigers made it back-to-back wins after accounting for the Dragons yesterday afternoon. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and Garry Watson. On the agenda, naturally, is that encouraging result in Magic Round. The boys take a look at what worked, what got a pass mark, and what still needs to be improved. While several players come in for special mention, including the man of the minute, Jahream Bula. Speaking of Bula, would you swap him for James Tedesco? We discuss that hypothetical question on this edition of the pod. Another good question raised on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum by Tiger 5150 - is this the best Wests Tigers team since 2011? There's also a look at the appointment of Scott Fulton as the club's NRL recruitment officer and ask - who gets the final say on player retention and recruitment? Who's the young star player the Wests Tigers have been linked to by journalist Phil Rothfield? There's a look at some questions and comments coming in from the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. And, Garry gives us a recap of another successful Ambush event held at Wests Ashfield. Post-win editions are always the best editions of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we hope you enjoy this one!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Wests Tigers are out to make it two wins in a row when they take on the Dragons in Brisbane this weekend. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto and Declan McCutcheon take a look at the Magic Round match and dare to have a little optimism. The boys also look over the biggest Wests Tigers news story of the week - the appointment of Scott Fulton as Head of Recruitment. As is the case with almost anything Wests Tigers, that appointment came with controversy and a few question marks, including:
    • Should Tim Sheens have known that the appointment was happening?
    • Where does the Fulton hiring leave Sheens in the decision-making hierarchy?
    • Is it a sign Benji Marshall is gaining more control over football operations?
    • Do we really want the CEO, Chairman, and Board to make these types of decisions?
    • What (and who) might Fulton bring to our club?
Declan and Eddie also take another look at the latest player signing rumours, including the prospect that Josh Schuster might be coming across the Spit Bridge, and Shaun Johnson could be here for two years too. There's a whole host of comments and feedback from the passionate bunch of fans on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. And Yioti has fired in a special Magic Round edition of his quiz. We hope you enjoy this big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast and that the football gods shine on the team on Sunday afternoon in Brisbane!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
