There are now just three sleeps to the Wests Tigers Round One clash against the Titans at Leichhardt Oval. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto takes the reins and is joined by Declan McCutcheon and Garry Watson. On the agenda, is a short discussion on Mitch Moses, but a more comprehensive chat about other recruitment options now that it seems we have missed out on signing the former Tiger, now Eel. Also, with this game being Tim Sheens' 250th game in charge at the Wests Tigers, the boys look at his return as coach and what he will bring to the way the team plays. Then the attention turns to this important match-up against the Gold Coast. What should we be looking forward to seeing? What are the things that worry us about the home side? And why is it we have traditionally struggled against the Titans, especially in Sydney?  And, something different, what should Tim Sheens' final message to the team be ahead of kick-off on Sunday evening? There are all the round-one tips as well, and Garry and Declan go head-to-head in Yioti's Quiz! We hope you enjoy this big pre-game edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There's a whole lot of different Wests Tigers news and issues to discuss on this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. With the Wests Tigers season starting in just days, Joel Helmes is in the host seat and is joined by Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and Garry Watson. First up, one word to describe the arrival into Australia of our new international backrower, John Bateman. There's a look at the side we expect Tim Sheens to name for the round one clash with the Gold Coast Titans at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday evening. We discuss whether trial form will be taken into account when the Head Coach sits down to pick the side and if guys like Asu Kepaoa and Charlie Staines have done enough to win a spot in the NRL side. Just when you thought it was over, Mitchell Moses still appears a chance of leaving Parramatta and signing with the Wests Tigers. We take a look at the latest developments in the long-running saga. There's also a look at the Danny Weidler article around the latest round of infighting at Wests Tigers.  Steve and Garry do battle over the incident that saw the Wests Magpies Chairman Shannon Cavanagh vent his frustration to the CEO of Wests Tigers, Justin Pascoe. And there's an update on the round one Ambush event, our Wests Tigers Podcast Forum tipping comp, and our Geoff Chisholm Player of the Year Award.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's that funny dead zone between the trials and Round One of the NRL season, but that's a perfect time to talk 2023 predictions. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto is joined by Declan McCutcheon and Garry Watson for a look into the future. The boys make some fearless Wests Tigers predictions, including:
    • Wests Tigers Rookie of the Year
    • Wests Tigers Top Tryscorer
    • Best Wests Tigers recruit in 2023
And, the big one too - where the Wests Tigers will finish on the table at the end of the looming NRL season.  Naturally, there's a brief discussion in regard to Mitchell Moses and his likely decision to re-sign with the Eels. Eddie, Garry, and Declan ask the questions - did we get played? Should Wests Tigers admin come in for criticism? And should we have done more to get him here? There's a round of Buy, Sell, or Hold as well. We appreciate your ongoing support and hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How good is it to be in the winner's circle! The Wests Tigers proved much too strong for the Raiders today at Belmore. Under sunny skies, Wests Tigers ran out 36-4 winners over Canberra in our final trial match of 2023. Joel Helmes, Declan McCutcheon and Garry Watson were on-hand to witness the seven tries to one win and convened under a tree just outside of Belmore to record this post-match edition of the pod. Some of the key talking points to come out of the match include:
    • The moving of AJ Kepaoa to the second-row
    • The impact of Shawn Blore
    • The latest injury for winger, Ken Maumalo
And who might get that utility spot on the bench in round one when we take on the Titans at Leichhardt Oval. Before all that though, here's the guy's thoughts on this afternoon's very impressive Tigers's performance:See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Wests Tigers NRL squad, or at least a very big chunk of that squad, is finally in action this weekend. We travel to Belmore Oval to take on the Canberra Raiders in our last trial match of the 2023 off-season. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson, Declan McCutcheon, and Steve Stretton to preview that trial. There's a look at the backs and the forwards, what we want to see in that trial, and who needs to impress to get a shot at that round-one team. There's also a discussion around the exciting news that Campbelltown Stadium could soon host a more than $16 million dollar Centre of Excellence. We take a look at the naming of Api Korisau as the 2023 Wests Tigers captain and ask whether his Penrith Grand Final celebrations should have excluded him from the running. Adam Doueihi looks set to ink another one-year extension to his Wests Tigers contract, we look at what this might mean in regard to the ongoing Mitchell Moses saga. And there's an update on John Bateman as he struggles to make his way back into Australia. It's exciting to have the football back and we hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ok, it wasn't the result we had hoped for, but how much should we take away from last night's trial match? This edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast was recorded immediately after a Wests Tigers team filled mostly with youngsters and fringe NRL players suffered a heavy loss to the Warriors. Eddie Otto jumps into the host's seat and is joined by Garry Watson and Declan McCutcheon for a discussion over the good, the bad, and the ugly from the trial. Some of the key talking points include the side's defense. Is conceding 48 points a worry at this stage? Which players took the most from the pre-season opportunity? Which players were disappointing? There were a few guys in the trial side last night that most likely will be in the Top 17 for our round one clash, including Stefano Utoikamanu and Fonua Pole. But what about the performances of guys trying to claim a spot, including Tommy Talau, Charlie Staines, Asu Kepaoa, and Justin Matamua? And what do we want to see when the more NRL standard version of the team takes the field next weekend for the side's second and final 2023 pre-season trial? There's plenty to discuss out of the Warriors game, we hope you enjoy our analysis.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Are we ready to declare the off-season over? NRL 2023 is just weeks away and the Wests Tigers will be in action this week! On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson, and Steve Stretton with a look at the latest Wests Tigers news. Naturally, there is talk about the future of Mitchell Moses with the Wests Tigers now seemingly being in a strong position to get his signature. One thing that can't be denied in the drawn-out Moses negotiations has been the way the club has handled the situation. As compared to high-profile targets we've been linked with in the past, this time around the club hasn't allowed it to play out in the media and the club just doesn't seem to leak like once it did. There's also a look at the weekend's trials and junior representative matches with all the scores, including our first-hand look at some promising young Tiger players at the Lidcombe Oval trial. Garry has been out to a Wests Tigers training session and came away more confident on the NRL side's Round One line-up. And we have details on the first Ambush event of 2023. With the final countdown on to see our new and improved Wests Tigers side in action, we hope you enjoy this big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Are we there yet? The NRL preseason continues to drag on with Wests Tigers fans counting the days to see the new-look team in action. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Declan McCutcheon has jumped into the driver's seat and is joined by Garry Watson and Steve Stretton. The football-hungry crew talk John Bateman and reports he's having some issues with a Visa, either for him or one of his family, to come to Australia. How will the delay in getting the new recruit into Sydney affect his preparation? What impacts might it have on the team in the early part of the season? The guys put that developing situation under the microscope. Speaking of a developing situation...well, developing at a very slow rate! Mitchell Moses. With there being seemingly no rush from Moses to make a decision, when might we expect an answer? If this continues, do we put in a deadline? Staying on the Wests Tigers halves conundrum, if Moses doesn't come our way, what should Plan B be? And Declan channels his inner Eddie Otto with a series of sharp, hard-hitting questions! We hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's the last edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast for 2022...well, that is unless there is some massive Mitch Moses news in the next two days! For what we think is the last edition of the 2022 year, Eddie Otto is joined by Garry Watson and Declan McCutcheon. On the agenda of the edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast is the exciting news that John Bateman has joined the club. The British International will be with the Wests Tigers for the next four years, starting in 2023. The boys look at what the experienced backrower is likely to bring to our team. There's a rumour doing the rounds that the Wests Tigers are trying to sign former Rooster and Warrior, and current rugby player, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. RTS is arguably one of the best fullbacks running around at the moment, yet he's hit a few hurdles in the 15-man game and might be looking for an NRL return. The rumour brings up a good topic for debate - is a fullback upgrade a priority over a big investment in the halves at the Wests Tigers? Eddie, Declan, and Garry also discuss another player signing rumour, Super League player, Jack Welsby, and there's a discussion around some comments made by Tim Sheens in regards to the 2023 Wests Tigers captain. Hit play or download for another round of 'Buy, Sell or Hold' and Garry and Declan's Wests Tigers knowledge is put to the test in the quiz. If we don't see you before midnight on December 31, Happy New Year and thanks for supporting us through a year that brought us more than our fair share of downs, but some renewed hope too.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's eerily quiet in Tiger Town at the moment...meaning either something big is cooking, or absolutely nothing is happening! On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto is back in the host's chair and is joined by Garry Watson and Joel Helmes. So, is there something happening behind the scenes? Are Tim Sheens and his team working away studiously around the clock to secure the signature of Mitch Moses? Or, is an announcement on where the Eels halfback is going to land still weeks away? We take a look at the latest on Moses in this edition. We also put the rather unhelpful and unwelcome comments from Benny Elias under the microscope. There's also discussion around the 2023 homes for two players we've been heavily linked to - John Bateman and Nathan Brown. Also getting a look over on this edition of the pod is the latest Wests Tigers 'Ask the Boss' segment with new recruit David Klemmer the guest. Eddie brings back his popular 'Buy, Swap and Hold' segment, and Joel and Garry do battle in the Wests Tigers Podcast Quiz. We hope you have a great Christmas and thank you again for your support through 2022!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
