The Wests Tigers Podcast continues coverage of one of the most exciting off-seasons in recent memory for the club. After adding key players like Isaiah Papali’i, Api Korisau, and David Klemmer, the club could be about to sign up Wests Tigers player number 175, Mitchell Moses. A decision by the now Eels halfback looks set to be made this week and the Wests Tigers are reportedly right in there with a chance. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast we take a deep dive into what Moses would bring to the club should he choose to go with us. How would the Brooks-Moses combo work for our team in 2024 and beyond? And what would a Moses recruitment mean for existing players such as Adam Doueihi? We try to answer those questions and many more. Wests Tigers fans might also be getting an early Christmas present this week with the rumoured/expected signing announcement of Great Britain international backrower, John Bateman. And we take a look at whether Nathan Brown (Wests Tiger #168) should still be a signing target for 2023/24 as well. There's discussion around other Wests Tigers news as well, including the return to the club of Chris Heighington (#60) and the long-awaited redevelopment of the Rozelle Village project on the site of the old Balmain Leagues Club. It's a big off-season edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast with Joel, Garry, and Steve, we hope you enjoy it!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Almost all of the Wests Tigers' first-grade squad reconvenes at Concord this week for the official start of pre-season. But, there appears to still be some question marks over who, and who might not be, Wests Tigers in 2023. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson and Steve Stretton for a look at the latest Wests Tigers news. We start off with a discussion around the Phil Rothfield 'Shoosh' piece that came out in the Daily Telegraph yesterday. The veteran rugby league journalist said an unnamed Wests Tigers "star" was so disappointed in the way Jackson Hastings was treated by the club that he is now looking at making an exit. Hit play or download to catch a discussion around the renaming of the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence. The $80 million dollar facility is now known as the 'Zurich Centre', we give the club a well-deserved pat on the back for their corporate sponsorship credentials. Tim Sheens has declared the Wests Tigers rebuild is far from over. We discuss what further moves might be in the pipeline. We also take a punt on who might be the next current Wests Tiger to leave. Future recruitment is also discussed with a look at Mitch Moses and Dylan Brown, and which of the two Eels would be a better fit for us. And then it's quiz time! Steve and Garry go head to head over questions surround the people who have been head coach at Wests Tigers, and some headscratchers over player names and initials. It's a bit of off-season fun, we hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers podcast with Joel, Garry and Steve.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's been a big couple of days in Concord with the Wests Tigers again active in the NRL play market. The big cleanout of the 2022 wooden spoon-winning side has continued with the departure of Jackson Hastings. Hastings has inked a deal with the Knights to play halfback, in return, Wests Tigers get representative forward, David Klemmer. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Eddie Otto, Steve Stretton, Declan McCutcheon, and Garry Watson dissect that player swap. Some of the questions that the boys try to answer include:
    • Who got the better of the deal?
    • What does the move mean for our halves in 2023?
    • Does losing Hastings put more pressure on Brooks and Doueihi?
    • What will big Klem bring to our forward pack?
There's also some discussion around the interesting words used by Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe in the press release confirming Jackson's departure from the club. And the boys discuss other potential future roster moves including the future of Adam Doueihi and rumored signing John Bateman. Who said the off-season is boring? It's another big edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast that we hope you enjoy. There's plenty to discuss on this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast! First of all, thank you to our listeners for not just making us the most listened-to Wests Tigers podcast around, but also making us the most listened-to club-specific rugby league podcast in Australia. Those results really are very humbling, thank you all again for your support. On to business, on this edition we discuss the reported moves that will see Jackson Hastings in Knights colours in the coming weeks. In return, David Klemmer will be a Wests Tiger. Is this a fair deal? Are we a better team with Klemmer than Hastings? And we look at whether the deal might be a sign that John Bateman is heading our way, potentially to replace Hastings at lock. There's a rumour running around that the Wests Tigers will be announcing two signings in the coming days, we discuss who those two players might be. Adam Doueihi is also on the agenda as he could be pricing himself out of the Wests Tigers and into the colours of a different NRL team in 2023. There's discussion around the controversial move by the Wests Tigers to shift a crucial 2023 home match to Hamilton in New Zealand. And Joel gets fired up over the club charging members postage to access their member's packs! Also up for debate on this edition is the poll currently running on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum that asks, where will the Wests Tigers finish on the NRL ladder at the end of the regular 2023 season? While we also put the Wests Tigers 2023 NRL draw under the microscope. It's another big off-season edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, enjoy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Another off-season edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast is good to go! This time, with a slimmed-down team of just Garry Watson and Joel Helmes, we take a look at the latest Wests Tigers signings. Well, at the time of recording, unfortunately, we're really only talking about signing rumours. These, of course, include reports that former Wests Tigers Captain Aaron Woods is set to return home for one final season. We take a look at what the former Blues and Kangaroo representative prop might be able to bring to the team in 2023. What's going on with David Klemmer? Many Tigers fans thought he was Concord-bound a couple of weeks ago, we discuss that situation too. And John Bateman, he's apparently told his England teammates he's coming back to the NRL, but will his reportedly frosty relationship with Jackson Hastings have deeper ramifications? We also discuss Tim Sheens' recent comments about wanting to work with Luke Brooks and try and see if we can make sense of the Tiger's halves issue. Then, with guys like Mitch Moses, Aaron Woods, and Nathan Brown potentially recruitment targets, we take a look at the players that have had more than one stint at our great club. Names like Halatau, Richards, and Skandalis have all come and gone, and come back again! And what sets Ray Cashmere aside from all other Wests Tigers players? We hope you enjoy this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast and don't forget to come and join us on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There's some fresh air blowing through the Wests Tigers Podcast this week with the start of a new podcast season. We've thrown off the shackles of a trainwreck of a year for the Wests Tigers and are looking forward to a (hopefully) brighter future. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is in the host chair and is joined by the Three Amigos of Wests Tigers discussion - Garry Watson, Declan McCutcheon, and Steve Stretton. On the agenda, first up, the latest news, rumors, and suggestions around Wests Tigers recruitment. Is Wests Tigers player number 168 Nathan Brown coming home in 2023? The firebrand forward says he's open to the idea. What's going on with David Klemmer? Could the former New South Wales Origin prop form a one-two combo with Brown? We also take a look at a departure - UK center, Oliver Gildart, and discuss the reports that Doueihi, Hastings, and Brooks are upset at club management. Then we move on to season 2023 and ask the question - can we expect a slow start to the year given the massive roster overhaul? And, our main event on this podcast, our predictions of what the round one team next year will be. Lastly, thank you! the Wests Tigers Podcast remains the most-listened-to club-specific NRL podcast around, we appreciate your support immensely!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Don't worry what Eddie says, this is actually episode number 218 of the Wests Tigers Podcast! Eddie Otto regains his composure to lead Steve Stretton and Garry Watson on a one-hour journey through the latest Wests Tigers news. On the agenda is the recent signing of Penrith flyer, and Premiership winner, Charlie Staines. The boys take a look at what Charlie brings to the Tigers, and what his signing might mean to existing Wests Tigers such as Daine Laurie and Ken Maumalo. Going the other way, in other words leaving Concord, will be Zane Musgrove and Tyrone Peachey. Eddie, Garry, and Steve take a look at what holes that pair might leave in our roster. Former skipper James Tamou has linked up with the Cowboys, was that a surprise? With the loss of a few props this off-season, are the Wests Tigers looking light on up front for 2023? Will another prop be coming our way? If so, Leniu? Klemmer? Once again, Luke Brooks and his future also comes up for discussion on this edition.  There's also a look at the latest developments around the Wests Tigers home grounds for next year. And where should our expectations be for NRL season 2023? Are we struggling again? Or is there a bright new future looming?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

  • Wests Tigers Podcast 0217
The Wests Tigers yesterday released the latest edition of a concept not seen for a couple of years "Ask the Boss". Hosted by Wests Tigers CEO, Justin Pascoe, the segment was a fairly regular offering when Ivan Cleary coached the Tigers. Naturally, the version released this week features the incoming Wests Tigers Head Coach, Tim Sheens. If you missed "Ask the Boss" you can view it here. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes, Declan McCutcheon, and Garry Watson respond to the segment. We take a look at the important information that came out of the segment, including:
    • Wests Tigers currently have 29 contracted players for 2023
    • In 2023 the Wests Tigers will play a different style of football
    • Wests Tigers intend to play the majority of home games at Leichhardt and Campbelltown
There's also discussion around Tim Sheens' rather bullish statements regarding how desirable we are to potential player recruits. We also ask, is Justin Pascoe the right person to host the segment? Who exactly is this segment targeting? And we also answer a question sent in by Mike, a loyal member of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, about club culture, and what exactly that is. We hope you enjoy this special edition version of the Wests Tigers Podcast and we hope to publish another podcast in the not-too-distant future (dependant primarily on player signing news).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The off-season has commenced, but that doesn't mean there aren't some burning Wests Tigers issues to discuss. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel Helmes is joined by Garry Watson, Declan McCutcheon, and Steve Stretton. The boys talk about the confirmation that finally came through from the man himself - Isaiah Papali'i, that he will definitely be a Wests Tiger in 2023. What will the former Eel bring to our team? Which side of the field do we see him playing on? Speaking of new recruits, has the shine come a little bit off Api Korisau after the Premiership rings incident following the Grand Final? We talk about that issue as well, in particular how it might end up being a positive. There's a look at the latest possible Wests Tigers recruitment targets, including David Klemmer, Spencer Leniu, Nathan Brown, John Bateman, and Charlie Staines. And we take a look at a Wests Tigers Podcast Forum topic - the best Wests Tigers players over time that never got picked for state or international representative football.
