With less than a week until this election and the reality of either a real ghoul or real goblin moving into the White House to kick out the crypt keeper, we thought we’d talk about absolutely anything else.

We decided to dig through the archives and resurrect some of the childhood urban legends that we used to trade with each other. 

These were the kind of stories that we’d talk about with our friends on the playground. Or later on out in the back woods while we smoked our dad’s cigarettes and drink beer we stole from the back of a grocery store. 

In those years before anyone had heard of Facebook or Twitter, the years before the internet even existed, somehow these stories managed to take flight and spread almost all by themselves all across the country. 

These are those stories about alligators in the sewer, murderers waiting in the backseat of your car, and Satanists carrying out late night rituals in the woods behind houses all over the country.
