What Catholics Believe

On this episode of What Catholics Believe, Tom and Fr. Jenkins return to answering viewers questions: • What does the Glory Be prayer mean? • Is it a contradiction for a priest to say the Latin mass and the vernacular Novus Ordo Missae? • Is praying the Rosary during Holy Mass acceptable? • Answering a few Protestant Objections to the Catholic Faith. This episode of What Catholics Believe is a continuation of the discussion between Tom and Fr. Jenkins about the upcoming Amazon Synod and the SSPX’s lack of reaction. Since the last show, the Society has come out with a flurry of articles on the Amazon Synod restating what others in the Novus Ordo have said but not taking a strong stance on the matter themselves. Why is this? A few of the possibilities are: • a deal with modernist Rome, • ecumenism, and/or • infiltration. Afterwards, a return to answering viewers question about the topic. • How much longer will it be okay to attend the SSPX if a deal has been made and the Society continues down this path? • Could the SSPX’s role possibly be as a lifeboat for the Faith instead of as a battleship? In conclusion St. Bernard, St. Francis, St. Louis, and St. Pius X are mentioned and how they would deal with the times we are presently in. (This episode was filmed on 21 August 2019). This episode of What Catholics Believe begins with a discussion between Tom and Fr. Jenkins concerning the Amazon Synod and the SSPX. The show then reveals new information which has come to light in via a recent interview on gloria.tv with the former president of Una Voce International and confidant of Bp. Fellay, James Bogle, regarding the regularization of the Society and Bp. Fellay being appointed by Francis as a member of the Roman Rota. This is followed up with a conversation about another interview conducted by Catholic Answers with Jim Vogel, the editor of Angelus Press and spokesman for the Society of St. Pius X in the USA, which further examines the SSPX’s relationship with modernist Rome. Two episodes of past What Catholics Believe (Feeneyism, Pro-Life and the Death Penalty, & the Nine; The Beast of the Amazon, Parts 1 & 2) are mentioned by Fr. Jenkins in conclusion to help explain the milieu. All in all, a very important show for the countless souls being led to modernist Rome.
