In this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss what the Bible says about a father's role in life. We talk about the fact that the scriptures sometimes liken God to our earthly fathers.  We look briefly at the instructions God gave to the original pair. We note the result in their children when godly men and women bring them up according to what the Bible says. Fathers are to love their children according to Solomon. Dads are to enjoy their children and show that to them, as we discus.  Several passages note the sympathy a father is to have toward his children. We note that concept. In this third and final episode on being unspotted from the world, Arnie and Fred begin by discussing minor concessions. Can we make these and remain faithful to the Lord? We talk about our speech and the kinds of words we might use a little bit of.  Being honest comes up in our discussion. Do we tolerate a little cheating and theft on our part? What about immorality. Do we give a wink and a nod at a little bit of it? Do we watch TV shows, read books and sing songs that have a little number of suggestive words and deeds? Is a little bit of the world ever a good thing for us? What kind of danger does this pose to us?  We complete this episode by looking at where compromise and concession with the things of the world lead us. In this second episode of being unspotted from the world, Arnie and Fred begin by noting that there can be no compromise with the world. We are either different from the world or like the world. We look at several passages that Paul wrote concerning this. If we do compromise with Satan, we note that we will be disloyal to the Lord. There is no middle ground. We next talk about the fact that compromise is gradual and not necessarily noticeable. Minor concessions seen less significant. We look at Daniel and talk about the concessions that he did not make. We talk about some of the so-called minor concessions that some Christians make. We discuss Queen Vashti referred to in Esther and what she did when called upon to violate her conscience. In this episode, Arnie and Fred look at the peculiar situation the Christian is in, being in the world but not of the world. We look at some of the differences between the world, Satan's kingdom, and the kingdom the Christian is in. We note that these kingdoms are nor just different but are totally opposite from one another. We talk about them being rival kingdoms with rulers that are intolerant of one another. We look at the loyalty demanded by both and what that means. We close out this episode with a discussion of the conflict involved and the militancy involved in that conflict including the weapons that are available. We look at several passages that point this out. We ask a number of questions that we can use in our self-examination of this subject. We continue by asking, Am I Pure? James discusses pure religion, and we talk about this. We discuss what John says about the world and it's influence over us, and the danger we face from it as it relates to our prayers. We complete this episode by asking, Am I Consistent? We note a number of passages that teach us the importance of this personal quality. We look at 5 passages written by Peter and Paul about the importance of being self-control. A lack of self-control will result in an individual engaging in sinful behavior. Arnie and Fred continue to discuss what hinders our prayers by asking if we are self-centered. By this we mean are we completely absorbed with ourselves to the exclusion of anything to do with Christ. Paul talked about how Christ strengthened him, and we look at that passage. We note what James had to say about one's faith and discuss how this would affect our prayers. We ask a couple of questions that can be used in our self-examination. We next ask another question, "Am I worldly?" We talk about what being worldly is. Jesus talks about one's thinking and we show that this is a part of doing things those in the world do. Paul and Peter both mention that we are accountable for what we do and will face judgment for such.  Obviously, these things will affect our prayers. We discuss what they are. In conclusion, we look at some things that Paul says we ought to think on which would certainly help in our prayers and not hinder them. But he went further by saying that being angry with one's brother without a cause was just as bad because one lacked peace. We discuss the fact that this is sinful and one's sins result in the Lord not hearing one's prayers. We look at what Peter says about husbands and wives' prayers being hindered.
